Kasamatsu Town in Gifu Prefecture is holding its annual spring event, the "Kasamatsu Haru Matsuri" (Kasamatsu Spring Festival). The festival consists of two events: the "Sakura Matsuri" (Cherry Blossom Festival), held at the scenic Kasamatsu Minato Park, and the "Honmatsuri" (Main Festival), a traditional celebration that has continued since the Edo period.

Sakura Matsuri (March 21 – April 5)
The Sakura Matsuri runs from Saturday, March 21 to Sunday, April 5, at Kasamatsu Minato Park. The event features food stalls, kitchen cars, nighttime cherry blossom illumination, a bonfire cafe, street performances, pony rides, and an escape game, offering fun for visitors of all ages.

Honmatsuri (April 12)
On Sunday, April 12, the "Honmatsuri" takes place, showcasing traditional performing arts that have been passed down through the community since the Edo period. Highlights include the "Daimyo Gyoretsu Oyakko" (feudal lord procession) and the "Chonaï Mikoshi" (neighborhood portable shrine), both reflecting the region's rich cultural heritage.

The Kasamatsu Haru Matsuri is a great opportunity to enjoy cherry blossoms, lively events, and a historically rooted celebration as spring arrives in Gifu Prefecture.
