Kawagoe Coffee Festival 2026 will be held at Renkeiji Temple (蓮馨寺) in Kawagoe, Saitama, on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6, 2026. First held in 2017, the festival reaches its 11th edition this year under the theme "The next chapter+." Along with coffee tastings from shops in Japan and abroad, food and live music, it will include a comedy live for the first time.
Over two days in the grounds of the historic temple, visitors can talk with the people who make the coffee while enjoying music and laughter. The festival is meant to offer new encounters both to those who come for the coffee and to those who come for their favorite artists.
Tickets are currently on sale at the cafe patricia shop and the Beautiful Coffee online store. The first allocation on eplus (イープラス) has sold out, and a second round of sales will open on Tuesday, November 10 at 6:00 PM.
About 30 Shops Bringing Coffee Culture From Japan and Abroad
About 30 shops take part, including exhibitors from overseas as well as coffee, food and apparel vendors.
From Malaysia comes One Half Coffee Roastery, whose barista was the runner-up at the World Barista Championship 2026 held in October 2026. CUCURUCHO AND COMPANY from Mexico City and La Viet Coffee, a coffee specialty shop from Da Lat, Vietnam, also join, with La Viet Coffee presenting Vietnamese coffee today.
Coffee and food shops from across Japan will also gather, including Okinawa, Miyazaki, Fukuoka, Shimane, Wakayama, Yamagata, Ishikawa, Shizuoka, Mie and Aichi. Through specialty coffee tastings, visitors can compare how origin, variety, roasting and brewing change the flavor. Talking with the makers also lets visitors learn the culture behind each cup and what each shop cares about, which is part of the festival's appeal.
momiji, the lifestyle brand of actor Kenichi Matsuyama (松山ケンイチ), collaborated with the festival last year and will exhibit for the first time. It will sell leather goods and other items made by upcycling resources that cannot be fully used in nature.
Note: La Viet Coffee takes part as a promotion and sales booth and does not join the regular coffee tasting.
Live Music With Asako Toki, Strange Reitaro, Shingo Sekiguchi and More
The music lineup features Asako Toki (土岐麻子), Strange Reitaro (奇妙礼太郎), T字路s, Kengo Kakudate (角舘健悟) of YOGEE NEW WAVES, Wataru Sawabe (澤部渡) of Skirt (スカート), Shingo Sekiguchi (関口シンゴ) and ルイ. On Saturday, December 5, the opening act is ふりこりこ from Saga. On Sunday, December 6, guitarist Mei Inoue (井上銘), who is drawing attention in Japan and abroad, will join Asako Toki's stage.
Mostly acoustic solo and duo sets will bring vocals and instruments echoing through the temple grounds. Listening to music at a relaxed pace with a cup of coffee in hand, in the atmosphere of Renkeiji, which dates back to the Muromachi period, is a highlight.
First Comedy Live With ジェラードン
As a new attempt this year, a comedy live will be held on Saturday, December 5. The performer is ジェラードン, the winner of King of Conte 2026. Time to laugh together will be added to a venue built around coffee and music.

At the cafe patricia shop and the Beautiful Coffee online store, the most popular option is the Kawagoe Coffee Festival Full Enjoyment Set (川越コーヒーフェスティバル満喫セット), which combines a one-day admission ticket, an original demitasse cup and four tasting tickets. The VIP Support Set (VIP応援セット) and others are also on sale.

A Message From the Organizer
The festival began in 2017 with the wish to create a one-of-a-kind event at Renkeiji, a venerable local temple, where coffee meets a variety of cultures. The organizer says that it started with the help of childhood friends and with everything done by trial and error, but gradually more people joined. Connections grew with coffee shops and artists, and the organizer has shaped, one by one, the things it truly believes in.
Each year the organizer has seen visitors surprised by how good a cup of coffee tastes and moved to tears by the music. This year the organizer wanted to add a time of big laughter, which is why the first comedy live is being held.
The organizer also points to unplanned encounters as a highlight of the festival: people who come for the coffee find music they love, and people who come for the live performances discover how interesting coffee can be. The hope is that these encounters continue into daily life, such as brewing a favorite bean at home, visiting a shop met at the festival, or listening to a newly discovered artist on the commute. The organizer hopes visitors will take home an experience that adds to their everyday enjoyment, widens their world a little, and makes them feel that the rest of life is going to be fun.
