About Chypre Notes: A mysterious and noble fragrance accord based on fresh citrus notes like bergamot, combined with the deep, earthy scents of oakmoss and patchouli. It gives a classic yet refined impression.
Inspiration
A few years ago, Kilian Hennessy visited Japan, "a place where serene time flows." While walking along Kyoto's Philosopher's Path, he was captivated by the sight of cherry blossom petals dancing in the breeze like snow. Upon returning to his atelier, he set out to capture the essence of that scene—its elegance and strength—and translate it into a fragrance.
The Fragrance
"Her Majesty," the brand's first chypre note fragrance, is Kilian Hennessy's modern reinterpretation that evokes emotion through vivid contrasts. Collaborating with perfumer Caroline Dumur, this new masterpiece joins The Narcotics Family.
To compose "Her Majesty," Kilian Hennessy first selected ambrette seed for its soft texture, rose for elegance, cedarwood for structure, and cyperus and oakmoss to add depth.
Aquatic notes inspired by the stream along Kyoto's Philosopher's Path are added, while a delicate whisper of peach evokes the light, fruity aspect of cherry blossoms.
By meticulously layering each ingredient—ambrette seed reminiscent of natural musk, refined rose, and aquatic notes that conjure the image of pure flowing water—the fragrance creates a remarkable harmony where contrast and emotion resonate together.
The Achilles shield motif on the side of the bottle embodies Kilian Hennessy's belief that perfume is a talisman.
