Fukaya City is set to open "Kodomo Fukka Park" (Fukaya City Children's Center, formally named 深谷市こども館) on April 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Located in Nakamachi, Fukaya City, the facility is one of the first of its kind in the city and ranks among the largest indoor play facilities in Saitama Prefecture.

The facility has a total floor area of approximately 4,963 m² (Children's Center portion: approximately 3,233 m²) and a site area of 6,000 m². The nickname "Kodomo Fukka Park" was chosen through a public vote by local elementary and middle school students from a pool of 1,396 submitted entries.

Eligible Users: Children aged 0 to 18 (high school age) and their accompanying adults (parents/guardians, etc.)

Closed: Mondays (or the following day if Monday falls on a public holiday or substitute holiday); Year-end and New Year period (December 29 to January 3)

    • High school age and above: ¥500

(1) "Assobiva" – A Vast 900 m² Play Space

The heart of Kodomo Fukka Park is "Assobiva," a large open play area of approximately 900 m². It is divided into seven themed zones, each featuring unique equipment and activities:

  1. Yurikago Hiroba – A warm, nurturing area designed to spark creativity
  2. Gokko Hiroba – A role-play zone where children can use their imagination
  3. Yasai Heigen – An adventure zone with large play equipment
  4. Game no Oka – A board and card game area for making friends
  5. Oto no Tani – A sensory music experience zone
  6. Renga Yama – An active climbing and sliding zone
  7. Digital no Mori – A digital play zone that blends movement and imagination

(2) "Fukkachan no Heya" – A Room Inspired by Fukaya's Mascot Character

Set within the Gokko Hiroba zone, this themed room is inspired by "Fukkachan," Fukaya City's beloved mascot character. The space recreates Fukkachan's home, complete with a bed, closet, and kitchen.

Highlights include:

  • Preparing vegetables harvested from the garden in the kitchen
  • Pretend nap time in Fukkachan's bed
  • Dressing up in costume for role play and commemorative photos

(3) "Yasai Heigen and Renga Yama" – Large-Scale Outdoor-Style Equipment Indoors

This adventure area features large play structures centered around the "Yasai Heigen" (Vegetable Plains), including a leek tower, sky net, net slider, and corn circle. Nearby, "Renga Yama" (Brick Mountain) offers slides, climbing structures, and more physical activities. Together, these zones cater to a wide range of play styles, encouraging exercise, cooperation, and creativity.

(4) "Digital no Mori" – Digital Play Experiences

The Digital Forest zone features three types of digital play equipment designed to naturally develop children's physical and creative abilities. Additionally, the first-floor entrance hall houses "Sukusuku Scale," a digital height measurement display featuring Fukkachan, historical figure Shibusawa Eiichi, and local vegetables – a fun way for children to record their growth over time.

(5) "Abilba" – A Second-Floor Water Play Terrace

Available from early summer through autumn, the rooftop terrace "Abilba" offers a water play area designed with safety in mind – shallow water depths make it suitable for young children. Features include fountains and water tunnels for full-body water play. Changing rooms and a shaded viewing area for guardians are also provided.
