A pop-up store from online sake shop KURAND is set to open at Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store in Osaka from March 18 to March 31, 2026. The event lets visitors experience the "Sake Gacha" — a social-media sensation — in person through real capsule toy machines.

Typically available only online, the Sake Gacha can now be enjoyed at a hands-on pop-up using actual capsule toy machines. Various types of Sake Gacha are available, each with a different category of sake up for grabs, alongside a special Sake Gacha where mini bottle charms are the prize.
The lineup includes rare bottles not sold through regular retail channels, such as "Souwa 18-nen" — an 18-year-aged sake blended plum wine priced at ¥19,800 (tax included) per bottle. There are no losing tickets; every pull guarantees a product whose retail price exceeds the cost of the gacha entry. It's a fun way to discover a new sake you might never have chosen on your own.

What Is "Sake Gacha"?
Launched in 2019, the Sake Gacha is a popular service from KURAND built on the concept of "the excitement of not knowing what you'll get — and the joy of discovering a new sake." A randomly selected bottle is delivered from a catalog of more than 500 varieties, spanning Japanese sake, plum wine, fruit liqueur, shochu, wine, premium sour bases, and more. The service gained widespread attention on social media, particularly during the at-home drinking boom of the pandemic years.
