The Kyoto Pottery Cooperative Association marks its 50th anniversary with a joint exhibition featuring Tachikichi, a company with over 270 years of history in Kyoto. The exhibition showcases sake and tea vessels created by Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki craftspeople, fired in a precious climbing kiln located in Uji, Kyoto. Visitors can explore these unique pieces at the Kyoto Ceramic Center from January 30 to February 11, 2026.

Background and Purpose
The Kyoto Pottery Cooperative Association has supported Kyoto's traditional ceramics industry for 50 years. To commemorate this milestone, the association partnered with Tachikichi, another Kyoto-based company with deep historical roots, to create a special exhibition. The project centers on a historic climbing kiln in Uji, Kyoto, where artisans crafted vessels themed around "moments of drinking."
Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki craftspeople carefully created each piece, combining traditional techniques with contemporary sensibilities. The exhibition presents a collection where heritage craftsmanship meets modern design aesthetics.
