Fukuoka Prefecture's Pride: "Amaou"

Fukuoka Prefecture ranks second nationally in strawberry production. In 2003, full-scale sales began, and this marks the 23rd year. Among them, the branded strawberry "Amaou," characterized by its large size and rich sweetness, was named from the initials of "akai" (red), "marui" (round), "ookii" (large), and "umai" (delicious). While it's called the "king of strawberries," it's not actually "Amaoh" (Sweet King) as one might imagine.
