Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Izumi's Second Major Renewal — 30 New and Renovated Stores Opening From March 26, 2026

Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Izumi, located in Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture, is undergoing its second major renovation since opening in October 2014. Starting March 26, 2026 (Thursday), 30 new and renovated stores will begin opening in phases, including one store making its Kansai debut and two making their Osaka debuts.

Renewal Highlights

  1. Major renovation of the 3rd-floor food court — New sofa seating and booth-style seating for comfortable family dining
  2. The 2nd-floor "Komorabi HOUSE" children's play area is evolving with the new open-style "Komorabi HILL" play zone
  3. Baby rooms on every floor get a redesign inspired by the local landscape of Izumi City
  4. Employee break room expanded for a more comfortable working environment
  5. A total of 30 new and renovated stores opening, including 1 Kansai-first and 2 Osaka-first locations

Renewal Point 1: Major Food Court Renovation on the 3rd Floor

The 3rd-floor food court is being significantly renovated with a warm design theme inspired by the natural scenery of Izumi City. Renamed "FOOD PARK," the space is designed for families to enjoy relaxed, comfortable meals together.

The entrance zone features motifs of sparkling light and nature, providing an inviting atmosphere for dining. New booth-style seating is being added to the central area, while the "Komorabi Garden" section at the back of the food court will feature a monitor displaying children's animated programs — a thoughtful touch for families with small children.

As part of the renovation's commitment to local culture, the round tables in the entrance zone feature layered panels and signage shaped in the outline of Izumi City made from "Izumoku" (Izumi wood), while the partitions at the counter seating in the central area incorporate colorful "Izumi Cotton" textiles and "Izumi Glass."

Renewal Point 2: New "Komorabi HILL" Children's Play Area Coming to the 2nd Floor

The 2nd-floor play area is being transformed into a livelier and more fun space. The existing "Komorabi HOUSE" will be updated with a new soft mat play area for young children to play safely, along with refreshed wall-mounted toys. A new open-style play area called "Komorabi HILL" — designed to evoke a grassy hillside — is being added next to the Thomas Station/namco area, offering age-appropriate play options. The graphics for the play area were created by Saeko Komiya, an artist based in Izumi City.

Renewal Point 3: Baby Rooms Redesigned on Every Floor

Baby rooms on each floor are being redesigned with warm aesthetics inspired by the distinct character of Izumi City — the northern area known for its everyday life and culture, and the southern area for its rich natural satoyama landscape.

In terms of functionality, the rooms will feature diaper-changing tables designed for easy stroller use, clothes-changing tables for children, and new nursing chairs and sofas, making the facilities more family-friendly overall. Additionally, the powder area in the women's restroom on the 3rd floor (beside the food court) is also being renovated.
