Renewal Highlights
01 Diverse Interior Scenes to Experience Your Ideal Lifestyle
HIDA's wooden furniture carries on the traditions of "Hida no Takumi" craftsmanship. For this renewal, HIDA Nagoya has reorganized its sales floor around HIDA's four core values: "Caring for People," "Inheriting Time," "Refining Technique," and "Walking with Forests." Through diverse interior scenes that inspire lifestyle visions, the store has evolved into a space where visitors can experience the beauty of wood-filled living. As you explore the store, you can envision your own ideal lifestyle.

03 Discover Tree Aromas at the "Forest Aroma Research Laboratory"
Fragrance is an essential element in contemporary living.
HIDA produces 100% natural, additive-free original essential oils from wood materials and branches that cannot be used for furniture. The newly created "Forest Aroma Research Laboratory" corner allows visitors to experience the distinct aromatic appeal of different tree species - including hinoki cypress and kuromoji - through testers using actual tree wood.

04 Enhanced Contract Furniture Display Corner
As wood's potential gains attention in various spaces including workplaces and hospitality facilities, the contract furniture display corner has been significantly expanded. Visitors can view examples including castered chairs with wooden arms and furniture utilizing regional timber.
From a sustainability perspective, this renewal has increased the ratio of domestically sourced timber in display furniture at HIDA Nagoya to approximately 40% of the total (up from about 30% before renewal).

05 Library Connecting with Design Philosophy
Many pieces in HIDA's collection were born through collaboration with renowned domestic and international architects and designers including Enzo Mari, Sori Yanagi, and Kengo Kuma. To honor these designers and convey Hida Sangyo's approach to craftsmanship, a new library featuring related books and a display corner showcasing international award-winning pieces have been established. This space allows visitors to connect with the philosophy and stories behind HIDA's furniture.

About Hida Sangyo
Operating the original wooden furniture brand HIDA, Hida Sangyo is a furniture manufacturer founded in 1920 by volunteers wishing to develop the Hida region, which has a background of the eternal forests and craftsmanship culture continuing since the Asuka period. With a mission to "make Hida the sacred place of woodworking with the spirit and skills of master craftsmen," the company engages in sustainable wooden furniture production rooted in the region, based on four core values: "Caring for People," "Inheriting Time," "Refining Technique," and "Walking with Forests."
While continuing to refine unique technologies such as bentwood and compressed cedar, collections developed through collaboration with domestic and international designers have received international recognition at overseas exhibitions and awards. Recently, the company has also strengthened efforts to connect woodworking culture to the future through initiatives including the "Hida Craftsman School" for training wood craftsmen and "Yubokukan HIDA GALLERY."
