Mampei Hotel in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, has added a new herbal tea to its lineup: "Mampei Hotel Original Herbal Tea - Dawn (Akebono)." Available both in-store and through the hotel's official online shop starting February 26, 2026, the tea draws its inspiration from winter sunrises over Asama Mountain as seen from the hotel's windows.
The blend's pale orange hue comes from hibiscus and rosehip, whose tartness is complemented by ginger for a clean, refreshing finish. When the tea bag is placed in a cup of hot water, the vivid hibiscus color gradually diffuses throughout—evoking the shifting morning light over Asama Mountain.
The tin exterior is decorated with a floral motif inspired by menu designs that have been used in the hotel's "Main Dining Room" since the Taisho era. It shares the same design as the "Mampei Hotel Flower Cookie Tin - Winter," which went on sale in November 2025. Both belong to the "Mampei Hotel Flower Series," with additional seasonal herbal teas and cookie tins planned for future release.
