Matsuzakaya Shizuoka is hosting a "Gold Festival" for six days, from Thursday, July 16 to Tuesday, July 21, at a special venue on the third floor of the North Building. Gold has long captivated people with its brilliant shine, valued both as a precious asset and as a material for exquisite pure gold craftworks and wearable jewelry. The event brings together gold and platinum Buddhist altar fittings such as orin bells, the store's original new product — a pure gold koban called "Kunouzan" — a special exhibition piece, and pure gold and platinum kihei necklaces. A gold and platinum buying corner will also be available, along with a lottery for shoppers who spend ¥500,000 or more (tax included).

Utagawa Kunitsuna's famous ukiyo-e depiction of Kunouzan, a celebrated Shizuoka view, has been beautifully recreated on a pure gold koban. The graceful composition overlooking the sacred Mount Fuji makes this a signature piece exclusive to Matsuzakaya Shizuoka.
