Matsuzakaya Shizuoka is holding a solo exhibition by Shizuoka-linked artist silsil, titled "Where They Stand Now," for seven days from Wednesday, August 5 to Tuesday, August 11 (a public holiday), 2026, at the Blanc CUBE Art & Luxury Salon on the 2nd floor of the North Building. The exhibition centers on silsil's signature "Woman" series, which takes women as its theme, alongside the "Escaped" series, painted in soft, soothing colors. The works on display and for sale depict the emotions, strength, and delicacy of women living in the present day through vivid color and expressive detail.
silsil continues to actively present work from Japan to the world, portraying the inner landscapes of modern women through vivid color and delicate expression that has captivated many. The artist also has close ties to the local community, having created the mural at the front entrance of the "ARTIE" entertainment facility in Shichiken-cho, Shizuoka City, as well as inside its bowling alley restaurant, and is drawing attention as an artist who adds color to Shizuoka's cultural scene.
During the exhibition, silsil is scheduled to be present in the gallery every day from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, offering visitors a valuable opportunity to hear directly about the artist's thoughts on the work and creative process.
