Matsuzakaya Ueno is holding an "Anniversary Fair" from April 3 (Friday) through April 5 (Sunday) to celebrate the department store's founding. April 5 marks the day in 1768 when Nagoya-based dry goods merchant "Ito-ya" expanded into Edo, an occasion that marks the beginning of Matsuzakaya Ueno's history. This year the store reaches its 258th anniversary, and the three-day event includes limited-edition grab bags, special-price items from popular shops, and food and household goods deals.
