Momosuzu Nene's First Solo Live "Rise Up * NENENENENENENENE Full Flourish" Held at Tokyo Garden Theater

Momosuzu Nene held her first-ever solo live, "Rise Up * NENENENENENENENE Full Flourish," at Tokyo Garden Theater on July 29.

Momosuzu Nene, a member of hololive 5th Generation's ねぽらぼ, is loved for her playful, innocent personality, while also carrying real strength as a singer and dancer with a cute charm — she has stayed committed to being an idol since the earliest days of her activities. This July, she released her first nationwide album, "Peachful Story," and her long-held dream of a solo live finally became reality.

At the center of the stage stood a gorgeous set reminiscent of peach blossoms in full bloom, flanked by instruments waiting to be played by a girls' band. Even before the show began, the venue was already filled with an atmosphere of excitement, as the audience clapped, called out, and danced along to the upbeat Latin-pop BGM of 「ねねちのギラギラファンミーティング」, reminiscent of Mexican mariachi music.

When a giant balloon appeared on stage and burst, the live finally began. A screen displayed the app of a delivery service called ねねデリバリー, showing the message "Your ordered super idol is being prepared," in a unique opening that framed the idol "Momosuzu Nene" as something being delivered to the venue. As an intercom chime rang throughout the venue, a delivery worker dressed in a costume resembling ねっ子 (*a collective term for her fans) crossed the arena seating and arrived near the equipment area. When they aimed a laser gun at the stage, Momosuzu Nene appeared, and the curtain rose on the live.

The opening number was 「ねねねねねねねね!大爆走」, a song synonymous with her. For this one day only, the lyric 〈アイドル志望の新人VTuべr(何だって!?)〉("An aspiring idol, a rookie VTuber (What did you say!?)") changed to 〈アイドル志望の最強VTuber!〉("An aspiring idol, the strongest VTuber!"), sending a huge cheer through the venue. In the second song, the refreshing summer tune 「カラカラ!」, she made a quick costume change into her idol outfit on stage. As the penlights filling the audience swayed widely, Tokyo Garden Theater was already wrapped in excitement from the early part of the show.

Throughout the live, the story told was one of Momosuzu Nene — delivered to the venue by ねねデリバリー — turning her fans' cheers into strength as she fully bloomed into the "strongest idol." The staging and costumes evolving with each song made that story even more memorable. In the first MC segment, the now-classic call-and-response "What's in everyone's heart?" was met with a loud response from the audience: "An energy drink!" As the venue filled with smiles over their perfectly synced exchange, the live — themed around "maximum output of fun" — gained even more momentum.

After the emotionally quiet choreography of 「last note」, two backup dancers joined her for a medley of hololive's group-wide songs. She first performed 「キラメキライダー☆」, "Capture the Moment," and "Our Bright Parade" in succession, then flowed straight into HoneyWorks' cover track 「ファンサ」. After that, another medley of group songs began, building excitement with "Color Rise Harmony" and "Ridin' on Dreams." Notably, during this medley she quickly changed through a series of past costumes worn during hololive's group-wide lives. Performing each song in the costume worn when it was originally unveiled felt like a look back at the path she has walked as an idol within hololive, and it made the stage itself feel like an expression of the time she has spent building her career.

As the MC segment began here, ねっ子神, voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, appeared above the stage. Speaking gently, ねっ子神 said, "I have been watching all along, seeing how hard you have worked," while also calling out, "But right now you are still in the middle of blooming. If everyone combines their strength, you can evolve into a fully-bloomed Nenechi!" In response to those words, a loud call of "Nenechi!" rose from across the venue, and having received her fans' cheers, Momosuzu Nene fully bloomed into the new outfit also seen in the live's key visual. The story of the live moved forward into a new stage.

The first song she performed after fully blooming into her new outfit was 「Lunch with me」, a song born from the daytime livestreams she used to do around her debut. Dancing with a full smile while letting her frilled costume sway gently brought out the cuteness of this new outfit to the fullest.

The following song, 「みちしるべ」, shifted the mood from the bright atmosphere of before into a quieter, more introspective world. Though she usually comes across as bright and energetic like the sun, she is also someone who, in her livestreams, often opens up about her worries and insecurities to her ねっ子. Perhaps because of that, every word in this song's lyrics resonated as gratitude toward the fans who always support her. Before the interlude, she spoke gently into the mic, saying "Thank you," and a huge cheer wrapped around the venue.

In the following song, 「コングラッCHU☆マーチ」, set to a lively marching-band-style rhythm woven with waltz elements, the atmosphere of the venue brightened all at once. Partway through the song, ねっ子神 appeared above the stage again. With the call, "Everyone — spin!," towels in the audience began spinning all at once. Amid a sense of unity where the entire crowd became part of the performance, the stage set itself also fully bloomed into an even more lavish, sparkling form. The story of the live took another step forward.

Carrying that momentum forward, "Ring-A-Linger" raised the venue's energy even further, and in the interlude that followed, Momosuzu Nene danced while gracefully spinning a stick she held in her hand. Each time the stick twirled through the air, members of ねぽらぼ appeared on stage one by one to loud cheers. Once everyone had gathered, they performed "Hyper Jumpin'." With a trap x EDM sound suited for a fully dedicated dance floor layered with laser effects, the penlights in the audience swung widely from side to side. For one night only, Tokyo Garden Theater transformed into a massive dance floor.

Raising that excitement even further was "BLUE CLAPPER," also performed by the same four members. Known as a signature, fan-favorite song among the four of them, the moment the intro played, an especially huge cheer rose from the crowd, and a mirror ball began spinning overhead. Wrapped in glittering light, the audience clapped along to the rhythm, and the whole venue came together to build up the live.

Next, the four members of ねぽらぼ performed 「ごきげんドリンクバーfeat. 雪花ラミィ,獅白ぼたん,尾丸ポルカ」, and a warm atmosphere spread that felt slightly different from the powerful performances that had come before. While "Hyper Jumpin'" and "BLUE CLAPPER" had the four of them uniting to set the floor ablaze, this song felt more like friends who had come to celebrate Momosuzu Nene's special day, wholeheartedly blessing her big moment. As the members exchanged smiles while singing together, the audience naturally broke into a loud call. It became a scene that captured the warm atmosphere and bond unique to ねぽらぼ.

The live was now moving into its final stretch. First up was "Breaking Down," showcasing a powerful, cool vocal performance. Showing an expression different from her usual cute idol image, it reaffirmed the breadth of Momosuzu Nene's range as a performer. Next came 「モモノネ」, a song about her honest gratitude toward her ねっ子 and her determination to keep walking forward as an idol. In this song, right as the second verse began, her costume evolved by yet another stage — into a look with curled twin-tails, truly befitting the title of "hyper idol," as she fully bloomed once more. Quoting a line from the lyrics — "If everyone is here, Nene can do anything!" — she spoke to the crowd, and the venue filled with flower petals raining down as a huge cheer rose up. Evolving into a new form each time she received her fans' cheers, she blossomed ever closer to the idol she had always dreamed of becoming. That moment embodied both the full flourish of the live's title and the peach blossoms in full bloom on stage — a truly beautiful moment.

Incidentally, as she later revealed during the MC, this twin-tail look was actually a tribute to Minato Aqua, a hololive graduate she respects as a role model for what an idol should be. Referencing the nickname "purple onion," affectionately given to her senior due to the shape of the back of her head, Momosuzu Nene turned around with a smile and asked, "Does the back look like an onion?," drawing warm laughter and applause from the crowd. It was a moment true to her personality, full of respect for a senior she looks up to.

Looking out at the crowd once more, she said, "Thank you all, truly, truly, for letting Nene stand on such a wonderful stage as an idol!," expressing her gratitude straight from the heart. At that moment, ねっ子神 appeared once again and made an exit with the wildly free excuse, "I need to get going soon — there's a last train to catch." Nene playfully shot back at the remark, and their comedic back-and-forth, true to her style, brought laughter to the venue. Responding to that atmosphere, Tomokazu Sugita added, "We're not the Yorozu— no wait, we're ねっ子 buddies!," a line tying back to a work he voices that Momosuzu Nene loves, keeping the mood from staying purely emotional and preserving the sense of humor unique to her live.

Next came 「LOVE受信、ヒクツ発信」, a song where she, who at first glance seems bright and carefree, sings about very human, real feelings of losing confidence or feeling insecure, set to a pop and colorful sound. As conveyed through the memorable lyric line 〈金髪ってだけで陽キャだと思うなよ!/引きこもるぞ/泣いてまうぞ〉("Don't assume I'm outgoing just because I have blonde hair! / I'll shut myself in / I'll end up crying"), her willingness to openly express even the honest feelings hidden behind her smile is part of what makes Momosuzu Nene appealing as an idol. At the end of this song, in response to her call, "I'll keep believing we'll always be together like this! What do you say?," a huge response of "Yes!!" echoed from across the audience, met with what may have been the biggest cheer of the day.

Closing out the main set was a new song, 「ももいろの砂時計」, performed as a surprise for the first time that day. As rainbow-colored lighting filled the stage, her voice, full of hope and a sense of moving toward the future, rang out through Tokyo Garden Theater. At the very end, she jumped together with the entire audience. With everyone's feelings in the venue united as one, the main set closed to a huge wave of cheers and applause.

Even so, the encore also delighted the audience with staging full of Momosuzu Nene's playful spirit. As a huge encore call rang from the crowd, the screen suddenly began showing end credits announcing that the show had ended. As the audience stirred at this unexpected turn, it was revealed to be part of a staged fake ending. Partway through the fake credits, she burst through the screen herself, calling out energetically, "Did you think it was over? Don't you all still have more energy to spare? Can I hear you make some noise!?," and the encore began. It was a surprise, true to her style, that kept surprising the audience right to the very end, and it drew a huge cheer.

The first encore song was 「ねねちのギラギラファンミーティング」. The song that had energized the venue before the show began was now performed once more, as a highlight closing out the live. During the interlude, the delivery worker and band members who had appeared at the beginning threw autographed balls into the crowd, creating a festival-like atmosphere that involved the entire venue, not just the stage. Right up to the very end of the live, the staging was packed with moments that let every single audience member enjoy being part of "ねねちワールド."

M18「ねねちのギラギラファンミーティング」

After 「Liminal」, the true final song was "Orange Sparkle," the closing track of her album "Peachful Story." This song carries special meaning for Momosuzu Nene. As she has shared during her livestreams, before joining hololive she once performed at a live with a capacity of approximately 2,000, yet was unable to fill the audience the way she had hoped. Carrying the frustration of that time, along with her determination to keep chasing her dream, she once again commissioned the same creator behind that original track, resulting in "Orange Sparkle."

Opening with the lyric 〈夢を描くってことは/道のない道選ぶことで/やっぱ難しいな〉("To dream is to choose a path with no road — and yeah, that is hard"), the song ultimately transforms into hopeful, powerful lyrics about the future. Singing this song passionately, she called out to the crowd with a smile: "Nene will absolutely, absolutely never forget today! There's still going to be a lot ahead of us, but let's get through it together! Starting tomorrow too, let's keep making every day fun!" At the very end, without a microphone, she called out live, "Thank you, everyone! I love you!," letting her real voice fill Tokyo Garden Theater, bringing the approximately two-hour live to a close.

Momosuzu Nene, known for her innocent, playful presence that always brings smiles to those around her, is also an idol who has walked alongside her fans more closely than anyone, never hiding her worries or vulnerabilities. That may be exactly why the full flourish portrayed on stage that day would have meant nothing if she had bloomed alone. There is surely great meaning in the fact that the fully bloomed peach blossom was one she and the ねっ子 who kept pushing her forward bloomed together. Momosuzu Nene, who has never given up on her dream of becoming an idol, delivered her effort, gratitude, and hope for the future with everything she had. "Momosuzu Nene 1st Live 'Rise Up * NENENENENENENENE Full Flourish'" was, without a doubt, a first live filled with smiles and love that only she could have delivered.
