Mother Farm (Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture) currently has approximately 2,000 hydrangea plants at their peak bloom.
Two varieties are in flower throughout the park: ホンアジサイ (Honajisai) and ガクアジサイ (Gaku-ajisai). The main viewing spot is the Ajisai Garden in the hilltop area, while hydrangeas also line approximately 500 meters of the park's walking trail connecting the meadow area to the Ajisai Garden. A park shuttle bus called the "Wan Wan Bus" also runs along the trail, so visitors can enjoy the hydrangeas from the window as well.

A popular limited-edition drink menu is also back this year: the Ajisai Lemonade Soda and the Ajisai Lemonade Float.

Inspired by the way hydrangea color changes with soil acidity, these are interactive drinks that visitors can transform themselves. Served in blue-purple, the color shifts to red-purple when the separately provided lemonade base is added and mixed in. The refreshing lemonade soda flavor is well-suited to the early summer heat — a limited menu that is both fun to look at and delicious to drink.

Limited-Edition Hydrangea Drinks

Seasonal drinks inspired by the hydrangeas blooming around the park are back for another year. Made with butterfly pea tea soda, they offer a refreshing flavor perfect to enjoy while viewing the flowers.
Adding the separately provided lemonade base changes not only the taste but also the color — from blue-purple to red-purple. While hydrangeas turn blue in acidic soil and red in alkaline soil (the opposite reaction), the color change in these drinks is a fun and tangible way to learn about hydrangea characteristics.
