20,000 Momoiro Toiki Petunias Now in Full Bloom at Mother Farm

At Mother Farm (Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture), Momoiro Toiki, a deep pink petunia born in Chiba, is currently in full bloom.

About 20,000 plants are blooming vividly in "Hana no Tani" (Flower Valley), located in the Makiba Area.

If growth continues on schedule, the gaps between plants should nearly disappear by early to mid-August, covering the hillside in a carpet-like sea of pink flowers.

"Hana no Tani," where the Momoiro Toiki can be seen, sits at an elevation of about 300 meters. It offers a combination of the flower field on the mountain slope, the "Kujukutani" mountain range of Minami-Boso, and an unobstructed summer blue sky. A walking path also runs through the flower field, making it possible to take photos surrounded by flowers on all sides.

This summer-only view is currently at its best, so be sure to enjoy it while it lasts — the flower field will only grow fuller and more colorful from here.

For the latest bloom conditions, check the official Mother Farm website. A video of the Momoiro Toiki flower field is also available.

About Momoiro Toiki

The Momoiro Toiki flower field at Mother Farm first appeared in 2014. Momoiro Toiki is an improved petunia variety born from a collaboration between a Minami-Boso horticulturist and Chiba University, known for its deep pink flowers and a relatively long blooming period from early July to late September. Because the flowers close their petals to protect themselves when it rains, viewing is best enjoyed on clear days.
