About MUGI FES Osaka Bay Tower 2026

MUGI FES Osaka Bay Tower 2026 is more than just a beer event.

Built around the concept "Cheers to the Future," it's a new kind of craft beer event that uses craft beer as a starting point to connect people with one another, with their communities, with culture, and with the environment.

Distinctive craft breweries continue to spring up across Japan, but opportunities to experience their appeal remain limited. By giving visitors a chance to interact directly with brewers and feel the passion behind their brewing and the charm of their home regions, MUGI FES aims to help Japan's craft beer culture reach even further.

Sustainable Initiatives

Consideration for the environment is also a key theme of the event.

The venue will use "Tumbler in the Forest MUGI," a tumbler developed by Asahi YOU. US, Ltd. that upcycles loss material generated during the malt production process, along with cups made from 25% recycled PET.

A portion of the event's profits will also go toward nature conservation activities.

Enjoying craft beer today can connect to a better environment tomorrow — that's the new kind of event MUGI FES proposes.

What to Experience at MUGI FES Osaka Bay Tower 2026

Twelve craft breweries from across Japan, brewers whose beers have earned numerous awards at competitions both in Japan and overseas, will each pour craft beers filled with their own personality and passion.

In the food area, six food stalls curated under the supervision of the Japan Beer Sommelier Association will offer food pairings designed to complement craft beer, letting visitors discover new flavor combinations where beer and food come together.

The craft area will feature one-of-a-kind handmade items made with care by their creators, offering a chance to experience the warmth and appeal unique to handcrafted work.

On September 22, Hawaiian dance centered on Showa-era classics will color the venue, creating a relaxed atmosphere where music, dance, and craft beer come together in harmony.

On September 23, "フレイディ," a lip-sync performer from Tokyo portraying Queen's Freddie Mercury, will take the stage for a performance inspired by the legendary "Live Aid" concert. The whole venue will join together under the banner "Cheers to the Future!" for a finale full of unity.

The event also partners with Asahi YOU. US, Ltd. as a co-creation partner, using its upcycled "Tumbler in the Forest MUGI" and 25% recycled PET cups to give visitors a chance to think about the environment while they enjoy themselves.

Non-alcoholic drinks will also be well stocked for anyone who doesn't drink, is driving, or follows a "sober curious" lifestyle of choosing not to drink. The event aims to be a place where people of every generation and drinking style can raise a toast together in the same space.

Everyone can raise a toast to the future in their own way. MUGI FES Osaka Bay Tower 2026 is a new kind of craft beer event that connects people, communities, culture, and the environment through craft beer, blending flavor, music, connection, and sustainability.

A Message From Representative Toshio Takeshiba

I spent 35 years working for manufacturers, including about eight years in the Netherlands and the United States.

The beer culture I encountered there wasn't really about the alcohol itself — it was a "community" that naturally connected people with each other and with their local area. Breweries and bars brought together people across generations and nationalities, and a single glass of beer would spark conversation and new connections.

Japan, too, is home to many craft breweries that can hold their own on the world stage. Wanting more people to discover their appeal, and hoping to become a bridge connecting people, communities, culture, and the environment, I founded Craft Nexus Inc.

The company name, "Nexus," means "connection."

I hope MUGI FES Osaka Bay Tower 2026 becomes an opportunity for many people to discover a new side of craft beer and for people to connect with one another.
