Nakaizu Winery Chateau T.S (中伊豆ワイナリー シャトーT.S) in Izu City, Shizuoka will hold the "WINE Walk" (WINEウォーク) on Saturday, November 28, 2026. Taking in the views of the vineyards and the grounds, participants enjoy award-winning wines together with Japanese-Western fusion course dishes matched to each wine.
Participants walk a route of approximately 2.3 to 2.5 km with five aid stations, where food and wine are served, and enjoy a wine and food pairing at each stop, one dish at a time.
The lineup includes the winery's award-winning wines, led by the "Izu Sauvignon Blanc 2025," which won a gold medal at the Japan Wine Competition 2026 (日本ワインコンクール2026).
Walking through vineyards where the harvest has finished and tasting wines made on the same land, guests can enjoy a new wine and a new view with every dish, a moment unique to a winery in autumn.
Course Dishes Paired with Wine at Five Stops

The "WINE Walk" is an experience-based event that combines a stroll, course dishes and wine pairings.
The walk starts in front of the main Chateau building and goes around the five aid stations set up in the vineyards and on the grounds. At each aid station, one dish of the Japanese-Western fusion course is served to match an award-winning wine, so guests can enjoy the combinations of flavor and aroma, with each dish bringing out the character of its wine.
The walk to the next aid station is also a chance to experience the vineyards and the surrounding nature. The event is recommended for those familiar with wine, and also for those who want to learn how to enjoy wine through its pairing with food.
Award-Winning Wines Shaped by Izu's Climate and the Winemakers' Efforts

Nakaizu Winery has worked on cultivation and winemaking methods suited to Izu's warm and rainy climate. At the Japan Wine Competition 2026, six wines won awards: one gold, one silver and four bronze.
The gold-medal "Izu Sauvignon Blanc 2025" brings out the character of the grape variety through trial and error in cultivation, night harvesting (picking the grapes at night), and thorough anti-oxidation measures to protect the aroma.
The silver-medal "Izu Merlot 2024" is made with careful work from cultivation to winemaking, including turning the direction of the grape clusters by hand to encourage coloring and a rigorous, advanced selection that removes pale berries and unripe fruit. Guests can enjoy the wine at the place where it was made, thinking about the climate and the winemakers' efforts behind it.
