The café lounge at Yamaha's flagship Ginza store — NOTES BY YAMAHA — is being renovated and will reopen on Friday, April 3, 2026, as a combined café lounge and mini concert space.
NOTES BY YAMAHA is located on the 2nd floor of the Yamaha Ginza Store (7-9-14 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) and offers drinks and food inspired by music culture. An adjoining library houses approximately 700 books curated to spark curiosity about sound and music.
The renovation brings two key additions: a Disklavier™ — Yamaha's high-precision auto-playing hybrid piano — for recreating performances by acclaimed pianists, and a newly enabled live performance stage for mini concerts featuring piano and orchestral instruments.
Acclaimed Pianist Performances Recreated via Disklavier™
The Disklavier™ will be used to recreate performances by the following renowned musicians:
- Chick Corea — Jazz pianist with 27 Grammy Awards who left a tremendous legacy in the music world
- Alan Menken — Composer of numerous film and stage scores, with 8 Academy Awards among many accolades
- George Harliono — Pianist who made his solo recital debut at age 9 and has since performed with orchestras and conductors around the world
The Disklavier™ uses Yamaha's proprietary high-precision digital control system to faithfully reproduce the subtle nuances of key touch and pedal movements of the original performer. The result is an immersive acoustic piano experience that feels as if the artist is performing right in front of you.
- This experience is available to guests who order food or drinks at the 2nd floor café lounge.
- The former "Real Sound Viewing" screenings have concluded with the introduction of Disklavier™ content.

Live Mini Concerts in an Intimate Setting
The stage inside NOTES BY YAMAHA now supports live performances. Mini concerts featuring piano and orchestral instruments are planned on a rolling schedule. With seating for up to 40 guests in a calm and refined atmosphere, the space offers a place to enjoy food, drinks, and music at a relaxed pace.
