Oimo Fes SHIZUOKA 2026 & Shizuoka Exposition Gathers Nationwide Sweet Potato Vendors at Granship Plaza

Oimo Fes SHIZUOKA 2026 & Shizuoka Exposition is taking place at Granship Plaza (GRANSHIP Shizuoka Prefectural Convention Arts Center) in Higashi-Shizuoka, Shizuoka City over three days from February 27 to March 1, 2026. The event brings together roasted sweet potato specialty shops, sweet potato sweets vendors, and producers from all over Japan.

Now in its fifth edition since its inaugural event at Sunpu Castle Park in February 2023, the festival has grown into one of the largest sweet potato events in Shizuoka Prefecture. The event is structured to be enjoyed by visitors of all ages, from infants to seniors.

Event Areas

1. National Sweet Potato Area

Roasted sweet potato specialty shops and sweet potato sweets vendors from across Japan are gathered here. The lineup includes shops that have won the National Roasted Sweet Potato Grand Prix, sweet potato confections crafted by French chefs, dried sweet potatoes, and creative sweets. Visitors can compare the different flavors, aromas, and textures that arise from regional varieties, roasting methods, and soil composition.

2. Producer Area

This area is dedicated to sweet potato farmers. Visitors can hear directly from growers about their philosophy on soil management and cultivation. Raw sweet potato sales and a fill-your-own-bag experience are also offered, giving visitors hands-on opportunities to learn about the product.

3. Shizuoka Exposition Area

Local gourmet foods and sweets made with Shizuoka-grown ingredients are featured here. The area offers a chance to explore the flavors and culture unique to the region.

4. Kids Area

Free play zones, a bubble wand area, and a picture book corner provide entertainment for young children and adults alike. A sticker exchange event is also held on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 3:00 PM.

5. Stage & Street Performance Area

The stage program includes audience participation events, quiz competitions, a music live performance by popular idol group Amato Danshi, and street performance shows. A gift certificate lottery and the fan-favorite roasted sweet potato rock-paper-scissors game are also part of the lineup.
