CREA FARM Fujieda Olive Garden, part of "CREA Village" in Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is holding an autumn harvest event called "Olive Harvest Festival 2026" across five days: October 24 (Saturday), October 25 (Sunday), and October 31 (Saturday), 2026, plus November 1 (Sunday) and November 3 (Tuesday, a national holiday). Visitors can pick olives, tour the on-site oil press, taste the freshly pressed, unfiltered new oil known as "Novello," and enjoy a limited pairing course that combines the fresh oil with local Shizuoka ingredients — a rare chance to harvest olives and taste oil pressed on the spot the same day.
Harvested, Pressed, and Tasted on the Spot: The Aroma of "New Oil" Only Found at the Source
Autumn is when a year's worth of growing olives finally bears fruit.
During the harvest season, the olive garden takes on an energy and atmosphere all its own.
Visitors get to pick olives themselves across Fujieda's expansive olive garden.
The harvested olives are then taken to the garden's own oil press.
There, guests can watch the olives turn into oil while tasting an extra-virgin olive oil pressed that very day, its aroma still rich and fresh.
Freshly pressed new oil has a vivid aroma reminiscent of green fruit and herbs, along with a pleasant bitterness and pungency.
It offers a taste that can only be found "in that moment" — quite different from the bottled olive oil found on store shelves.

Three Ways to Enjoy the Olive Harvest Festival
Taste a rare Japan-grown "Novello" on the spot
In the roughly 4-hectare olive garden spread across Karijuku in Fujieda City, visitors pick olives themselves. It's a special opportunity to taste "Novello," an unfiltered new oil pressed from olives picked just moments earlier, and enjoy the aroma and flavor unique to freshly pressed oil.
Learn about food and farming, from picking to pressing
Through olive picking and a tour of the on-site oil press, visitors can experience the whole process behind how olive oil is made.

From Farm to Table: A Gastronomic Experience Rooted in Shizuoka's Land
CREA Village aims to go beyond simply growing olives and producing olive oil. It's about the land where things grow, the people who work it, the people who cook, and the people who visit — and creating a food experience unique to the region by connecting all of them together.
At the Fujieda Olive Garden's "CREA Village," a farm, oil press, shop, and restaurant all share the same site. Visitors can walk the fields, get close to the olive trees, learn about how the oil is produced, and then taste it as a finished dish — experiencing a "farm to table" concept in one place.
By connecting the region's primary industries with its chefs, and expressing the land's climate, seasons, and producers' stories through a single dish, CREA Village aims to grow this kind of effort into a gastronomy unique to Shizuoka. It also draws on the idea of a "destination restaurant" — deliberately traveling to a place for a food experience found nowhere else — and is working to make the olive garden itself a travel destination in its own right.
CREA FARM's Initiatives So Far
1. Olive cultivation
CREA FARM Inc. was founded in 2015 with the aim of regional revitalization through the sixth-sector industrialization of olive production. Its group company, the agricultural corporation "CREA FARM Fujinokuni," now operates directly run olive gardens in Nihondaira in Shizuoka City and in Karijuku in Fujieda City.
Since launching the business, CREA FARM has worked with overseas olive cultivation and pressing specialists to establish growing methods and pressing techniques suited to Shizuoka's climate, aiming for high productivity and world-class olive oil quality.
Extra-virgin olive oil harvested and pressed at its own farms has been recognized in olive oil competitions both in Japan and abroad, and CREA FARM continues refining its quality with the goal of sending world-class olive oil out from Shizuoka.
2. Developing and selling regional craft products
Beyond turning its own pressed olive oil into a product, CREA FARM also develops products that combine Shizuoka's regional ingredients with olive oil.
It plans and sells original products that offer new ways to enjoy olive oil, including "UMAMI OIL," a savory olive oil made with Shizuoka-grown wasabi and shirasu.
CREA FARM also partners with a range of local businesses — producers, food companies, and cosmetics-related companies among them — to develop and produce craft products together.
By combining local ingredients and know-how into new products and experiences, these collaborations support producers and help revitalize regional industry.
3. Agritourism: "CREA Village"
In 2022, CREA FARM opened the agritourism facility "CREA Village" at its olive garden in Karijuku, Fujieda City, near the Fujieda-Okabe Interchange on the Shin-Tomei Expressway.
Working with local governments, companies, regional producers, and food and horticulture professionals, CREA Village offers a place where visitors can "grow, learn, eat, and shop" all in one location.
On-site, the farm-to-table restaurant "RESTAURANT OLINAS" partners with local primary producers to serve dishes made with seasonal Shizuoka ingredients and CREA FARM's own olive oil. Rather than a typical tourist farm or restaurant, CREA Village aims to be a regional destination built around agriculture and food culture.
Visiting the olive garden, meeting the producers, experiencing farming firsthand, and tasting the local ingredients as a finished dish — CREA Village draws on the ideas of gastronomy tourism and agritourism to create a place where visitors can experience Shizuoka's food, farming, nature, and culture with all five senses.
A landscape that can only be encountered once a year: flowers blooming in spring, sunshine in summer, and olives ripening in autumn — the harvest season is the culmination of that year. Picking the olives, pressing them on the spot, taking in the aroma, and tasting them as a dish is an experience only possible where the olive oil itself is born, offering a chance to appreciate both the depth of the olive and the richness of Shizuoka's food culture.
It's the season when the olive garden is at its most vibrant. CREA Village's Fujieda Olive Garden looks forward to welcoming visitors.
