Kyoto Oimo Daisakusen 2026, a sweet potato-themed festival held under the banner of thinking about SDGs from Kyoto (14th edition), is coming to Umekoji Park this spring. Drawing a cumulative 80,000 visitors last year, the 2026 edition is set to be even bigger, combining sweet potatoes, hands-on experiences, and family-friendly fun.

2026 Best of Miss Kyoto as Stage MC
The event stage will be hosted by participants from the 2026 Best of Miss Kyoto pageant. The competition aims to create a platform where women of different ages, backgrounds, and life stages can share their experiences and values in their own words. Focusing on social issues such as education, environmental awareness, and gender equality, it nurtures the next generation of opinion leaders who embrace diversity. Their activities extend from Kyoto to the world, broadening the possibilities and social roles of women.
Kids Area
A popular Kids Area also returns to the venue, with bouncy domes, trampolines, traditional festival-style children's games, workshops, and more. On March 26 and 29, a mini steam locomotive ride will additionally be available — a perennial favorite among younger visitors.
Railway Goods and Railway Idol Events
Railway merchandise sales and a railway idol stage will be on offer at the venue as well. Close to the Kyoto Railway Museum, the Umekoji area is a fitting setting for this addition, offering content the whole family can enjoy.
