About Oki
Unlike most whiskies, which are aged in bourbon or sherry casks, Oki is matured in red wine barrels. It is a single malt whisky developed to showcase the character of a single cask, rather than blending multiple casks together. Produced at Kirishima Yokogawa Distillery using unique lactic acid fermentation, low-temperature long-duration distillation, and natural water from the Kirishima mountain range, the whisky is characterized by a rich, cacao-like finish and notes of berries.
What Makes Oki Special
The bold character of the red wine barrel is met with the clarity of a single malt whisky. By allowing the spirit to slowly mature in an aging warehouse with more than twice the insulation of a standard facility, layers of nutty aroma, grain character, woody notes, and alcohol-derived sweetness develop and intertwine. The result is a bottle born from the harmony of master craftsmanship and the natural environment of Kirishima — a combination rarely found on the market.
