From Friday, July 17 to Monday, August 31, 2026, Okinawa Harborview Hotel (2-46 Izumizaki, Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture) is holding a range of summer-limited events for the whole family, taking place throughout the hotel — from the garden pool to the buffet restaurant "プランタン" and beyond.
At the garden pool, renewed in June 2026, young hotel guests can take part in the "Tropical Kids' Mocktail Experience." The hotel is also offering a range of other family activities during the stay, including the hotel-wide "Find the Shisa!" event, a rock-paper-scissors game with staff, a kids-free offer at the buffet restaurant "プランタン," a candy scoop game, and an Instagram photo contest.
Tropical Kids' Mocktail Experience at the Renewed Garden Pool
For Hotel Guests Only: Make Your Own "Tropical Kids' Mocktail Experience"
Open to elementary-school-age children and younger, this experience lets kids make their own non-alcoholic cocktail using pineapple juice. After shaking their original drink like a bartender, they pour it into a fruit-shaped tumbler to complete the experience — and the tumbler is theirs to take home as a memento of the trip. Guests can join in swimwear before or after using the pool.
Schedule: Every Friday and Saturday, 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM (30 minutes)
Location: Poolside (held at "プランタン" if the pool is closed due to weather)

Find the Shisa!: In this hands-on event, kids explore the hotel while searching for shisa statues hidden throughout the property. Guests who find three or more of the shisa that have watched over guests for 50 years — including the one at the main entrance — and show staff a photo taken with them receive a glow-in-the-dark bracelet that's fun to wear poolside at night, too.
For Hotel Guests Only, Rock-Paper-Scissors with Staff: A long-running favorite, this game lets guests play rock-paper-scissors with front desk and restaurant staff. Every round earns a sticker regardless of win or loss, and collecting three stickers can be exchanged for a prize at the front desk.

This Instagram photo contest is themed around "A-Lunch," a beloved Okinawan comfort food — a one-plate meal of meat, fried dishes, rice, and more that's a staple at restaurants across Okinawa. At the buffet restaurant "プランタン," children can freely arrange their own "Original A-Lunch" and submit a photo of it; winning entries will be selected from the submissions, and winners receive a lunch voucher.
