Yokohama Bay Quarter, the shopping mall at Yokohama Station's East Exit, will hold its Christmas illumination event "20th Anniversary Sapphire Blue Christmas" for a limited time from Wednesday, November 18 to Friday, December 25, 2026.
Since 2024, the mall's Christmas event has been held in collaboration with a tenant store. This year's partner is MOTHERHOUSE, a brand that plans, produces and sells bags, apparel and jewelry using materials and techniques from developing countries. Inspired by the brilliance of the highly transparent Sri Lankan "blue sapphires" the brand handles, an 8-meter-tall real tree will appear at the mall.
A Tree Inspired by Blue Sapphires
The tree is decorated with jewelry-like ornaments and twinkling lights, creating a fantastical world of blue that draws visitors in. Snowmen, reindeer and other figures stand at its base, and together with the glowing tree they set the scene for Christmas.
To mark the mall's 20th anniversary since opening, a lighting show synchronized with music will be held in addition to the illumination displays. Other Christmas-season events include a shopping campaign with an original novelty gift and a greeting event with Santa Claus. The open, waterfront space offers a special seasonal glow.

Gospel Live and Tree Lighting Ceremony
To kick off the Christmas season, "SEISHI TOYA with CONBRIO" will perform a live gospel set, and the Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place as their voices ring out across the plaza.

During the illumination hours, a special lighting show synchronized with music will be held. Every day at 8:20 PM, a special effect to commemorate the 20th anniversary wraps the entire tree in champagne gold.

Christmas Present Campaign (First 300 Participants)
A stamp rally runs during the period, with one stamp earned for every ¥1,000 (tax included) spent in the mall. Those who use two or more stores and collect a total of 5 stamps will receive MOTHERHOUSE's chocolate "Rin IRODORI" as a present, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Santa Claus Greeting Event
Santa Claus will appear inside the Christmas-themed mall. Visitors from children to adults can take photos with Santa as he walks around the mall and chat with him.
