"Open Folders" is a platform brand founded by Hisato Takenouchi, a director known for launching multiple brands including "nana-nana." Operating simultaneously across the world, the brand reconstructs products, food, culture, content, street culture, communities, and more through curation, working alongside partners from a wide range of creative fields.

Built around Takenouchi's perspective gained from working on numerous projects with brands and retailers both domestically and internationally, the team brings together founding members of leading Tokyo street brands and specialists with deep experience in PR, editorial, and communications. Rather than treating things as mere objects, Open Folders approaches them as a means of communication that translates cultures, ideas, and structures. The brand aims to uncover and visualize unlanguaged possibilities across fashion, food, lifestyle, brands, cities, design, and markets. Its core pillars are wordplay, reconstruction, and community.

Slang for the Japanese word for "thank you" (arigatou).

BEROBERO
An onomatopoeia describing the state of being completely drunk.

A modest expression of wanting to be treated to more drinks.

For its first collaboration, Open Folders has teamed up with RADIO EVA — the official apparel brand of the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion — and IKUMI KAKIHARA, a Tokyo-based artist known for creating works using painting and sashiko embroidery, in a triple collaboration release (¥11,000 / tax included). The launch is set for 12:00 PM on May 29.

Past Events: "OPFD UTAGE"

In January 2026, Open Folders held an event at "Chambre Noire" in Paris, France, inviting local musicians and creating original wine along with souvenir caps and sweatshirts. In April, the Japan premiere opening event took place at "Wine Bar JUNI" in Meguro, Tokyo. From May 1 to 3, pop-up events were held at "Baggage Cafe Market" in Shibuya/Jingumae and "Port tomigaya" in Tomigaya, with collaboration caps developed alongside both shops.

The brand plans to regularly curate community-building events going forward.

June 2026: Paris Showroom 2027SS / OPFD POPUP STORE / OPFD UTAGE in Paris

With products as the starting point, Open Folders continues to expand its territory by creating spaces where brands, retailers, creators, and communities intersect. Coinciding with Paris Fashion Week, the brand plans to hold a showroom in France, showcasing new and upcoming collections to buyers, press, and creators from around the world.
