Evangelion Unit-01 Statue Unveiled at Yamaguchi Ube Airport Ahead of "Machijuu Evangelion 2026"

A statue of Evangelion Unit-01 has gone on public display at Yamaguchi Ube Airport's domestic terminal building, which is marking the 60th anniversary of its opening, ahead of the October 29 launch of "Machijuu Evangelion 2026." Previously shown at the Neon Genesis Evangelion series' 30th anniversary event in Yokohama, the statue will remain on view through March 14, 2027.

Ube City Unveils New "Machichu Evangelion 2026" Illustration and Confirms "Evangelion Unit-01" Statue at Yamaguchi Ube Airport

Ahead of the October 29 opening of "Machichu Evangelion 2026," Ube City has unveiled a new commissioned illustration and confirmed that an "Evangelion Unit-01" statue will return to Yamaguchi Ube Airport from mid-September. Singer Yoko Takahashi will also appear at the city's Ube Matsuri festival in November.
