ORIHICA, a brand operated by AOKI Co., Ltd., has added the ORIHICA Miracle Blouse® VEIL (Voile) to its lineup at stores nationwide and through the ORIHICA online shop. Developed in collaboration with Toray Industries, the blouse uses an exclusive functional fabric called ORITEX (ORIHICA TEXTURE), designed to address the most common complaints about summer office casual wear: visible underwear, excessive heat, and sun exposure.
A Summer Blouse Born from Customer Feedback
White and pastel blouses are a popular choice for office casual looks in summer, but many wearers have long struggled with see-through fabric. The typical solution—using thicker material—tends to reduce breathability, feel heavy, and look cumbersome, making it far from ideal during recent intensely hot summers.
In response to these concerns, ORIHICA partnered with Toray to develop ORITEX, a fabric used in the new Miracle Blouse® VEIL. The result is a blouse that delivers strong anti-see-through performance, heat-shielding properties, and UV protection, while maintaining a lightweight, comfortable feel appropriate for professional settings.
The flagship feature is its anti-see-through capability. Despite using thin, lightweight fabric, the blouse achieves an anti-see-through rate of 93.0% or higher* in white, while other light colors test at 95.0% or above. In addition, ORITEX reflects solar heat to help keep the garment's interior cooler, and provides UV-blocking functionality—making it viable even in the peak of summer.

Six Styles for On and Off the Clock
The VEIL lineup consists of six styles that transition well between work and everyday occasions, with a variety of designs and color options.
Options include a classic collared shirt style, a V-neck that offers an elegant neckline, a pintuck design with a formal feel, and a bow-tie type well-suited as a jacket inner. The range is intended to allow wearers to choose according to mood and occasion.
Testing Details Conducted by Toray
Anti-See-Through
A white test piece was fixed in an embroidery hoop and placed over the ORIHICA logo under an LED light source. When compared against a standard white blouse (comparison product) and the previous model, ORITEX scored an anti-see-through rate of 93.6%—higher than both the comparison product at 80.4% and the previous model at 88.7%. Light-colored versions achieved rates of 95.0% or above.

Heat Shield
Two mannequins were dressed in black camisoles, then fitted with either an ORITEX blouse or the comparison blouse. A solar lamp simulating a Tokyo midsummer was directed at them for approximately 70 minutes. Thermography measurements showed the ORITEX blouse reduced surface temperatures by 4.8°C on the blouse surface and 6.9°C on the camisole surface compared to the standard model.
UV Cut
A white test piece in an embroidery hoop was placed over a UV-sensitive label. A solar lamp simulating a Tokyo midsummer was applied for 15 minutes, and color changes in the UV label were observed afterward. ORITEX achieved a UV shielding rate of 99.6%, versus 80.4% for the comparison product and 88.7% for the previous model. Virtually no color change was observed on the label beneath the ORITEX fabric.
