QUINTET is an innovative grappling (submission wrestling) tournament founded by Kazushi Sakuraba. Contested in a unique five-on-five team format where fighters are eliminated one by one, the event has continued to captivate combat sports fans around the world — and this edition brings the tournament to an unprecedented, historic stage.
This time's venue, Kyoto's Kyu Butokuden, is a nationally designated Important Cultural Property regarded as a sacred site of Japanese martial arts. Built in the Meiji era, the historic building will host a professional combat sports event for the first time in its history. Against the solemn backdrop of this sacred hall, fighters will battle it out in QUINTET's intense elimination format.
Japan's Three Top Teams Face Korea's Strongest Team
In past editions of the numbered series, top fighters from overseas have gone head-to-head, but this tournament brings together three teams built around Japan's own top fighters, who hold their own on the world stage, along with Korea's strongest team, which now rivals Japan's standing in Asia. The result is a high-level team competition.

Genki Sudo Named QUINTET's New Producer
Starting with this tournament, Genki Sudo — a legend in the combat sports world known for his multifaceted career — has been named QUINTET's new producer.
At last year's QUINTET.5 in Dubai, Sudo captivated the world with a striking performance as leader of his group WORLD ORDER. Going forward, he will work alongside founder Kazushi Sakuraba to introduce new initiatives aimed at growing QUINTET into a more global sport.
At Kyoto's Kyu Butokuden, a sacred site of Japanese martial arts, top fighters will clash with pride on the line in this intense battle. Which team will conquer this historic tournament and claim the crown of grappling champion?
Don't miss this historic bout, streaming on Lemino.

Founder Kazushi Sakuraba's Comment
"I'm delighted that QUINTET can be held at Butokuden, a place with special significance for Japanese martial arts. The highlight this time is the strategy that only comes from team competition, and the fighters' resolve to keep fighting until the end for their teammates. I hope many people will enjoy the world's finest grappling, unfolding on this historic stage, through Lemino."
Producer Genki Sudo's Comment
"Butokuden carries the spirit and history that Japanese martial arts have passed down. On this stage, athletes from around the world will show full respect and compete with everything they have — I believe QUINTET will become a tournament with value beyond simply winning or losing. I hope you'll watch this day that connects history with the present, and Japan with the world, on Lemino."
