Red Brick Sunset 2026, the annual summer event held at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Plaza, is set to run from August 1 (Saturday) through August 30 (Sunday), 2026 — a total of 30 days. Now in its 19th year, the event draws on the waterfront venue's open setting to offer an international resort atmosphere right in Yokohama. Last year's edition welcomed approximately 610,000 visitors.
A pre-opening is scheduled for July 31 (Friday) at 5:00 PM.
This year's theme is Santa Monica — the popular resort city on California's West Coast and the western terminus of Route 66. As 2026 marks both the 100th anniversary of Route 66 and the 250th anniversary of American independence, the theme carries a special resonance. The venue will be styled after Santa Monica's Sunset Beach, evoking the city's refined streetscapes alongside a retro, colorful aesthetic reminiscent of classic American pop culture.
Venue Highlights
Retro American Diner Décor and Santa Monica Atmosphere
Santa Monica is known for its wide, palm-lined beaches and laid-back California vibe. To capture that spirit, the event plaza will be decorated with colorful 1950s American diner props and cheerful, retro-style accessories — transporting visitors to the world of Santa Monica's Sunset Beach without leaving Yokohama.

West Coast Local Food and Drinks
A variety of food and drinks inspired by the Santa Monica area will be available throughout the event. The lineup includes casual American staples like hamburgers, ice cream and other cool treats for the summer heat, and multiple local-style options. Drinks suited to a sunset setting will also be part of the offering.

SDGs Initiatives
Red Brick Sunset 2026 incorporates the following sustainability efforts:
Fry to Fly Project: Used cooking oil collected during the event will be contributed to the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 80% compared to conventional jet fuel.
Local Renewable Energy: As part of efforts to decarbonize the event, surplus electricity from solar panels installed in Yokohama homes (post-FIT power) will be utilized. This is expected to cover approximately 20% of electricity consumption at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse and reduce CO2 emissions by an estimated 440 tons per year.
