Yokohama Oktoberfest 2026 Runs 17 Days From September 18 at the Red Brick Warehouse

The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Plaza hosts Yokohama Oktoberfest 2026 for 17 days, from Friday, September 18 to Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Held since 2003 to bring the atmosphere of Munich's Oktoberfest to Japan, the event has become a fixture of autumn in Yokohama and one of the Red Brick Warehouse's largest annual gatherings, drawing about 130,000 visitors last year. Beer from five of Germany's six government-certified Oktoberfest breweries -- Hofbräu, Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr, Spaten, and Löwenbräu -- headlines a lineup of more than 100 beers from over 20 vendors, including brews making their Japan debut and others poured only at this venue. German food and live performances by a German band round out an atmosphere that aims to feel like Munich itself.

New this year is a tasting set that comes with an original beer mug, plus a "one-coin menu" of ¥500 dishes that make it easy to add another bite. Visitors can also choose among four different areas depending on how they want to spend the day, and every food and drink stall offers non-alcoholic and non-beer options alongside the beer, so the event welcomes beer lovers, non-drinkers, and families alike. A "Yokohama Citizens' Thanks Day" and discounted travel-and-admission ticket bundles are also part of this year's event.

New This Year: A Tasting Set With an Original Beer Mug

The tasting set lets visitors sample a range of German beer styles by choosing three beers from 18 participating stores, from lagers familiar to Japanese drinkers to fruity white beers and beer cocktails popular with women. Each pour comes in a 250ml serving in an original beer mug made for the event by Noritake, the renowned tableware brand -- and the mug is the visitor's to keep as a souvenir.

Tasting set overview

  • Sold at: The information booth inside the venue
  • Includes: One original beer mug and three exchange tickets
  • Price: ¥3,700

*Because the beer mug is reused across all three pours, a rinsing sink is available on-site for guests who want to wash it between beers. Glasses and mugs used elsewhere at the venue require a deposit and must be returned for washing and reuse.

A selection of the beers available in the tasting set includes:

  • Riedenburger -- Emmer Bier: Available only through the tasting set and new to the event this year, this beer is brewed with emmer, an ancient wheat, for a balance of sweetness and light acidity that has made it popular in Germany.
  • Schneider Weisse -- Schneider Original: A must for white-beer fans. The signature beer from Schneider Weisse, a wheat-beer specialist that has carried on a royal recipe since 1872, known for its fruity aroma and fine, delicate foam.
  • Sünner & Pinkus Müller -- Apple Kölsch: A beer cocktail popular with women, blending the original Kölsch style with apple for a range of flavors from sweet and easy-drinking to crisp and refreshing.

New This Year: A 500 Yen "One-Coin Menu"

Traditional German dishes and beer-friendly bites are also available for ¥500 each through a new "one-coin menu." The lineup includes a "croissant pretzel" that combines the aroma of a pretzel with the flaky texture of a croissant, a sauerkraut made with herbs and spices for an authentic taste, and a "curry German sausage" that pairs curry-topped Currywurst with hearty German potatoes. The menu makes it easy to try a little of several dishes or add one more item to go with a beer while exploring the venue.

Notable Beers: Japan Debuts and Venue-Exclusive Brews

A selection of standout beers found only at this event:

  • BRLO/Riegele -- Berlin Red IPA (limited to 100 servings a day, Japan debut, venue exclusive, brewed exclusively for this event): A Berlin-style craft red IPA brewed specifically for Yokohama Oktoberfest, with a gentle roasted aroma, a full body, and BRLO's clean finish that makes it easy to drink.
  • Ayinger -- Festmärzen (limited to 100 servings a day, venue exclusive, brewed exclusively for this event): Made specially for this year's festival and available only at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, this medium-bodied beer carries a rich malt sweetness.
  • Riedenburger -- Festbier 2026 (venue exclusive): A traditional Bavarian Festbier style with rich malt aroma balanced by hop fragrance. Well-balanced sweetness and bitterness give it a full body with a light, easy-drinking finish, ideal for enjoying outdoors.

Beyond Beer: Cocktails and Non-Alcoholic Drinks

Beer cocktails, sparkling wine, and non-alcoholic options such as smoothies are available at every food and drink stall so that non-drinkers and beer novices can also join in.

  • Weltenburger/Löwenbräu -- Shine Muscat Beer Cocktail: German beer made into a beer cocktail with the flavor of shine muscat grapes, with a bright color and enjoyable taste.
  • CAMBA -- Apple Sparkling Wine: A 100% apple sparkling wine born from the German tradition of apple drinks like Apfelwein, with fresh fruitiness and a refreshing acidity -- a new favorite even for those who don't care for beer.
  • PAULANER -- Strawberry Smoothie (limited to 60 servings a day): A vivid smoothie with the rich aroma and gentle acidity of strawberries and a smooth texture; mango milk and Uji matcha flavors are also available.

German Food, From Sausages to Sweets

Sausages, meat dishes, freshly baked pizza, and sweets from Germany round out the menu, offering plenty to enjoy alongside beer or on their own.

  • Weltenburger/Löwenbräu -- Currywurst, a German street food staple: A classic German street-food dish pairing a crisp sausage with seasoned potatoes that go well with German beer.
  • SPATEN & MEISSNER -- Mushroom and Mussels Steamed in German Beer, With Lemon Butter (limited to 50 servings a day): A generous mix of seasonal mushrooms, savory mussels, and plump tail-on shrimp, steamed in German beer so the beer's rich aroma melds with the seafood's deep flavor to the last bite.
  • PAULANER -- Schnitzel With a Special Sauce (limited to 30 servings a day): A thin cutlet fried until crisp and golden, with tender meat and a light, crunchy coating -- a beloved German staple.

  • CAMBA -- German Margherita Pizza (limited to 100 servings a day): Pizza from the hugely popular Dr. Oetker, arriving in Japan for the first time from Germany, where 1.5 million pizzas are produced daily -- a thin, crisp crust piled with toppings, made with premium ingredients in the "ristorante" style.
  • Prost Gelato Collection -- Assorted Gelato: Built around the theme of "raising a toast with ice cream," 14 flavors of specialty gelato are served in an original cup, meant to be enjoyed at the start, middle, or end of a relaxed autumn afternoon at the Red Brick Warehouse.
  • CHURRO BRAU -- Housemade Churros (limited to 100 servings a day): Crisp outside and soft inside, these housemade churros are individually fried and shaped like a beer mug -- a photogenic, Oktoberfest-only sweet.

Four Areas to Suit Every Visitor

Munich's own Oktoberfest is known as the world's largest beer festival, famous for its lively music and the sight of friends toasting together inside huge tents. This year's event offers a similarly energetic space alongside areas designed for families and dog owners to relax, giving visitors four distinct areas to choose from depending on their mood.

The Large Tent: The Heart of the Festival

The large tent, imported from Germany, holds the beer booths and seating that form the core of the event, and this year it debuts a renewed stage -- rebuilt with warm wooden staging and dressed with a canopy and garlands for a more festive look. Seating wraps around the stage so guests can feel close to the German band's live performances as the whole tent comes together. Amid the festive mood, this area serves beers found nowhere else in Japan alongside authentic German food.

Beer Garden Booths: Toast Outdoors

An open-air area where visitors can enjoy the autumn breeze, with booths from three breweries each decorated to match its own brand identity. Alongside beer imported directly from Germany and beers found only here, the booths serve hearty seafood and rich, meaty spare ribs. Reserved seats are also available for groups of friends or coworkers who want to enjoy the open-air setting together.

*Reservation details will be posted on the official website in mid-September.

*Reservation availability varies by booth.

  • Hacker-Pschorr: Hacker-Pschorr Münchner Gold, an enduring favorite even among serious beer drinkers in Munich, offers a full body with a mild, easy-drinking finish and a pleasant malt sweetness -- best paired with the booth's grilled tuna and yellowtail collar, a traditional fish dish from the port city of Hamburg.
  • Weihenstephaner: "Oktoberfestbier 2026" (limited to 150 servings a day, Japan debut, venue exclusive, brewed exclusively for this event) is a rare beer made just for this event, with a smooth finish and a pronounced aroma of premium hops. Pair it with the "assorted cheese sausage with spare rib" (limited to 200 servings a day), a rich plate of boneless spare rib steak and plump sausage piled with cheese.
  • Krombacher: Krombacher Pils, often described as Germany's top-selling premium pilsner, is served in a dedicated pilsner glass that beer fans call "the glass that quenches your thirst." Also recommended is the "reward stick schnitzel" (limited to 50 servings a day), a German schnitzel cut into skewer-sized pieces in the style of Japanese kushikatsu.

Hofbräu Booth: Easy Even for First-Timers

An independent, covered booth seating about 200 lets visitors settle in and enjoy Hofbräu, the traditional German beer once favored by royalty. Advance reservations are available every day of the event, with an all-you-can-drink plan and full table service. Guests who reserve this booth can also order a new "German brewery tasting set," which pairs the all-you-can-drink Hofbräu with beers from four other breweries selected from the six official Oktoberfest breweries.

German brewery tasting set overview

  • Beers included: Hofbräu, plus beers from Löwenbräu, Paulaner, Spaten, and Hacker-Pschorr
  • Available to: Guests who reserve the Hofbräu booth in advance

*Reservations are scheduled to open at 9:00 AM on September 4 (Friday).

*Details of the all-you-can-drink plan are scheduled to be published on the official website on August 19 (Wednesday), with details of the German brewery tasting set to follow in mid-September.

HOFBRÄU FESTZELT (brewed exclusively for this event) serves Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier, the seasonal Festbier brewed for Oktoberfest and also poured at the official festival grounds in Munich. Long aging gives it a mellow, rounded body that balances malt depth, gentle hop bitterness, and a fragrant aroma. The booth's Schnitzel, made to a special recipe supervised by the chef of the German Embassy's official residence, is another dish found only here.

Lawn Area: Relax With Family or Your Dog

A wide lawn offers a relaxed space where guests can feel the festival's energy at their own pace, well suited to families with children and to visitors bringing their dogs. Leashed dogs are welcome in this area, so guests can settle in on the grass and take in the Oktoberfest atmosphere at a slower pace.
