The Royal Park Canvas Kobe Sannomiya (2-3-1 Shimoyamate-dori, Chuo-ku, Kobe) will serve a Christmas version of "Meets KOBE," the mini afternoon tea at its CANVAS Lounge that lets guests taste the city of Kobe, starting Friday, November 6, 2026. The holiday-season-only tea stand is lined with sweets decorated with bright red strawberries and cream reminiscent of snow. The lounge itself is decorated with a blue-green Christmas tree, setting the scene for a tea time available only in this season.
Sweets and Savories
The sweets include a rich chestnut pudding finished with a lingering hint of rum for a grown-up taste, and a mille-feuille that layers custard cream and whipped cream on crisp pie pastry and is topped with seasonal strawberries. The tea stand also features a cookie that shows off raspberry jam and a fluffy chiffon sweet that combines smooth custard cream with strawberries. These sweets bring the flavors of Comme Chinois (コム・シノワ), a boulangerie that represents Kobe.
On the savory side, the lineup includes a sandwich made with roast beef from Tor Road Delicatessen (トアロードデリカテッセン), which was also well received in last year's Christmas version, along with a colorful selection of other dishes. Guests can feel the charm of Kobe while enjoying the retro and cute tea stand.
