About the Supervisor: Masatomi Higurashi
Masatomi Higurashi (born 1954, Aoyama Gakuin University graduate) is a translator and Holmes scholar. He won the 76th Mystery Writers of Japan Award in the Criticism & Research category for Sherlock Holmes Bible (Hayakawa Shobo), and completed new translations of all four novels and all 56 short stories for the "New Translation Sherlock Holmes Complete Works" (9 volumes, Kobunsha). Other translation credits include The Sherlock Chronicles by Steve Tribe and Sherlock Holmes and the Shadow of Shadwell by James Lovegrove (both Hayakawa Shobo).
Higurashi shared the following message for guests: "This year too, the staff at Salon Christie have devised a menu inspired by the food and drinks that appear in the Holmes stories. Some items feature ingredients that were staples in the Britain of Holmes's day. I hope you enjoy the experience while recalling both the original stories and the films — including, of course, the much-loved Measuring Cylinder Beer."
