Two new Saruta Hiko Coffee locations are set to open simultaneously next to the New South Gate of JR Shibuya Station on June 1, 2026. The Tokyo-based specialty coffee chain will debut both a compact, quick-service format and a spacious sit-down space side by side, offering options for different types of visits to Shibuya Station.
Two Store Formats
Saruta Hiko Coffee JR Shibuya New South Gate Short is geared toward commuters and those looking for a quick stop, with 7 seats across a 6.59-tsubo (approximately 21.79 m²) footprint. It will be open daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
Saruta Hiko Coffee JR Shibuya New South Gate Tall is the larger of the two, offering 45 seats* in a 42.79-tsubo (approximately 141.48 m²) space for those who want to spend a bit more time. Hours are daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with last orders at 10:30 PM.

Both locations will serve specialty coffee selected by Saruta Hiko Coffee, sourced directly from coffee farms through direct trade. The brand places emphasis on quality at every stage, from roasting through to each individual cup served to customers.
