Two new Sarutahiko Coffee locations are set to open next to the JR Shibuya Station Shinnan Gate on June 1, 2026. The specialty coffee brand will launch "Sarutahiko Coffee JR Shibuya Shinnan Gate Short" and "Sarutahiko Coffee JR Shibuya Shinnan Gate Tall" simultaneously — each designed with a different kind of customer in mind. The opening also marks the debut of a new original blend developed alongside JR East Shibuya Station staff, as well as a refreshed cup design and drink menu.
Two Stores with Different Concepts
Sarutahiko Coffee JR Shibuya Shinnan Gate Short
The Short store is focused on quick service, designed for morning commuters and passengers making transfers. Ready-to-serve coffee and refrigerated sandwiches are on hand for those with limited time, though 8 seats are available for anyone who wants a brief moment to pause.

The Tall store offers a more relaxed setting with 45 seats. Each cup of café latte is prepared individually, and the menu extends to hot sandwiches, cake, soft serve, pudding, and tiramisu — suited to a longer café stay.

A New Blend Developed with JR East Shibuya Station Staff
The "Shinnan Gate Blend" was created through ongoing dialogue and tasting sessions with JR East Shibuya Station staff. The goal was a cup that fits naturally into the varied, fast-moving atmosphere of Shibuya — a blend exclusive to this location.
The Shinnan Gate Blend will be available at the Tall store from June 1.

As an opening promotion, the first 2,000 visitors will receive a 10% off coupon card. The discount applies from the second purchase onward (including a second order on the same day), and is valid from June 1 through July 31.
New Cups and Updated Menu from June 1
Timed to coincide with Sarutahiko Coffee's 15th anniversary, a new cup design and updated drink menu will be introduced. The two Shibuya Shinnan Gate stores will adopt the new design from opening day, with most other nationwide locations following on June 8. Drink menus — which had previously varied by location — will be standardized across most stores, with the exception of the Harajuku, University of Tokyo, and Kyoto area locations.
Cup sizes will change alongside the menu update, with prices revised accordingly to make the range more accessible.
