SEA SPICA High-Speed Cruiser Offers Summer Sunset Cruise and Miyajima–Kure Blue Line

Two special cruise routes aboard the SEA SPICA high-speed sightseeing cruiser are set to operate in the Hiroshima area this summer. West Japan Railway Company and Seto Inland Sea Steamship Company are running the popular "Evening Cool Miyajima Sea Worship Sunset Cruise" from July to August 2026, along with a brand-new "Miyajima–Kure Blue Line" short cruise in August 2026.

Evening Cool Miyajima Sea Worship Sunset Cruise

From the deck of the SEA SPICA, passengers can enjoy the beautiful evening scenery of the Seto Inland Sea and a sea-level view of the Itsukushima Shrine torii gate.

Schedule

Departure port options:

  • (A) Hiroshima Port – Departs at 6:20 PM
  • (B) Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima Pier – Departs at 6:30 PM

The cruise anchors off Miyajima for a sea worship experience from 7:00 PM to 7:15 PM. No landing on Miyajima is included.

Disembarkation port options:

  • (A) Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima Pier – Arrives at 7:40 PM
  • (B) Hiroshima Port – Arrives at 7:50 PM

Miyajima–Kure Blue Line (Short Cruise)

Miyajima–Kure Blue Line cruise

This new route links Kure — home to the Yamato Museum, scheduled for a renovated reopening in April 2026 — with Miyajima, site of Itsukushima Shrine, which marks the 30th anniversary of its World Heritage listing in December 2026. The one-way journey takes approximately 50 minutes, with scenic views of key landmarks along the way.

Kure Port → Miyajima Port (passes near the Itsukushima Shrine torii gate)

  • 9:35 AM → 10:25 AM
  • 1:15 PM → 2:05 PM
  • 3:30 PM → 4:20 PM

Miyajima Port → Kure Port (passes near the JMSDF Kure Naval Base)

  • 10:30 AM → 11:20 AM
  • 2:10 PM → 3:00 PM
  • 4:25 PM → 5:15 PM

Passengers traveling on the Kure Port → Miyajima Port route are also required to pay the Miyajima Visitor Tax (¥100) separately.
