SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK 2026 Spring Unveils Special Key Visual by Face Oka and Main Event Details

The SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK Executive Committee (Chairman: Kenji Onishi, Chairman of the Shibuya Dogenzaka Shopping Street Promotion Association) will participate in "TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2026" and host "SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK 2026 Spring."

This is an urban fashion event that continues to transmit culture to the world from Shibuya, a city that has attracted attention through once-in-a-century large-scale redevelopment and where diverse personalities and values intersect. Since its inaugural event in March 2014, the event has been held every spring and autumn, marking its 13th year and 25th edition this time.

This spring, under the concept "CULTIVATE", which shares the same etymology as culture, various content will be released throughout the streets of Shibuya.

Today, we announce the key visual by Face Oka, an artist active both domestically and internationally. During the event, special art drawn exclusively for SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK as "THE CITY DRESSING" will decorate the streets of Shibuya and welcome visitors. Collaborations with brands centered around the key visual will also be featured.

"THE CULTIVATE MARKET by SFW®", being held for the first time, is a market event aimed at bringing communities together with various exhibitors unique to SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK. Collaboration with CFD TOKYO, Japan's only fashion designer organization, and influencers has been confirmed. The goal is not simply to sell products, but to create a market where encounters between people, things, and events are born, and visitors naturally become part of the community from the moment they arrive.

"THE SHOPPING", a shopping campaign where large commercial facilities collaborate, has confirmed participation from approximately 120 popular Shibuya shops, exceeding last year's number. Additionally, "THE EXHIBITION", which will be the final exhibition in Bunkamura The Museum's current exhibition space, and "THE STAMP RALLY", where limited SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK goods are given as presents, are among the notable content planned exclusively for SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK this spring. Details will be announced sequentially.

Shibuya nurtures Japanese fashion culture and continues to transmit it to the world.

Please look forward to "SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK 2026 Spring," which transmits the joy of fashion from the streets of Shibuya, a city being reborn through once-in-a-century large-scale redevelopment.

Face Oka's Original Key Visual and Message Announced

Key Visual by Face Oka

Message to SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK

My studio is also in Shibuya Ward, and I have frequented Shibuya since I was young and still do now, so I love Shibuya. Therefore, I am grateful to have been given this opportunity. I expect that this event will grow to become synonymous with Shibuya, like "SFW®" = Shibuya, in the future.

About the Key Visual

Having observed Shibuya for many years, I believe that "things don't go straight and always create chaos" in Shibuya. I tried to incorporate that image into this work. However, my works are already themed around "how to make things look POP without going straight," so I think I was able to create the work without being too tense. Also, I would be happy if young creators see my work and think they would like to try creating the main visual for this event someday.

Thoughts on Shibuya

As mentioned above, I have always been close to Shibuya from my youth until now. I think the city of Shibuya is a unique and wonderful city compared to cities around the world. Recently, I have seen various problems and incidents due to inbound tourism, but I don't think all of it is "bad." I expect Shibuya to interpret people and cultures from various countries in its own way and become an even better city.

Special Collaboration "SFW® x Face x Brands"

Collaboration Visual

This spring, under the concept of "CULTIVATE," a collaboration project embodying Shibuya's unique street culture will be implemented.

This project features the key visual drawn by Face Oka, with participation from four brands: SFW® x Face x atmos / BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS / DISCOVERED / LOTTO.

Under the concept of CULTIVATE = cultivate, it will dig up the fashion, art, and street context that the city of Shibuya has nurtured and create a "session" that connects to the next generation. Starting from Face's expression, where unique messages lurk beneath the pop surface, it will have creative sessions with each brand and sublimate them into products. Stay tuned for the street culture that intersects in Shibuya.

"THE CULTIVATE MARKET by SFW®"

THE CULTIVATE MARKET

As one of the new initiatives this spring, Shibuya Fashion Week's first market will be held at Shibuya Sakura Stage.

THE CULTIVATE MARKET by SFW® is a market where all participants—creators, deliverers, and visitors—cultivate relationships, under the concept of "Cultivate Community."

Based on the network SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK has built over its 13-year history, exhibitors active in various fields centered on fashion, including fashion designers and influencers, are scheduled to participate (details and exhibitors will be announced sequentially in the future).

The goal is not simply to sell products, but to create a market where conversations are born, values intersect, encounters between people, things, and events are created beyond positions and titles, and visitors naturally become part of the community from the moment they arrive.

☆ A portion of sales from this project is planned to be donated.

The final exhibition in Bunkamura The Museum's current exhibition space, ahead of its expansion and relocation to a new facility in the "Shibuya Upper West Project" (scheduled for completion in 2029).

Photographer Yuriko Takagi, fresh from her exhibition at KYOTOGRAPHIE held at Nijo Castle, Kyoto (2023) and collaboration with Christian Dior, focuses on her "Threads of Beauty" series, where she has photographed the daily lives of people wearing traditional clothing around the world for 30 years. The venue design is by architect Tsuyoshi Tane (ATTA – Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane Architects), who digs up the "memories" held by places and connects them to the future.

It will be an attempt to re-examine the question "What is fashion?" in the space of Bunkamura The Museum, which has held exhibitions with diverse genres featuring themes, foresight, and topicality.

Don't miss this final opportunity to enter Bunkamura The Museum's current exhibition space, which has woven encounters with art for approximately 40 years.

About SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK

SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK was first held in March 2014. Since then, it has been held every spring and autumn, marking its 25th edition this spring. Until now, large commercial facilities around Shibuya Station have been at the center, and we have developed unique cultural transmissions from Shibuya together with various partners beyond facility boundaries. "SHIBUYA RUNWAY," which has become a highlight of SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK, has held runway shows at Shibuya's unique venues, enlivening Shibuya as a fashion city. In spring 2021, the world's first runway show was held at Shibuya Scramble Crossing, and in spring 2022, it was held at an evolving Shibuya development site, with online streaming. In autumn 2022, a street runway show was held on Shibuya Bunkamura Street for the first time in three years, transmitting Shibuya's diverse fashion. SHIBUYA FASHION WEEK, which continues to evolve, has started toward a new stage with the streets of Shibuya as its stage.
