Explore Japan's Sake Culture at Shinagawa SAKE Road This Golden Week

"Shinagawa SAKE Road – National Sake Brewery Tour" is held at Shinagawa Prince Hotel on May 3 (Sunday) and May 4 (Monday, national holiday), 2026. The event brings together 28 sake breweries from across Japan along with the Japan Famous Sake Association at Shinagawa, a hub where people and cultures converge, to share the depth of Japanese sake (kokushu) with visitors from home and abroad.

Each session runs 90 minutes, with two sessions offered daily: 1:00 PM–2:30 PM and 4:00 PM–5:30 PM. Admission is ¥6,000 (tax included), which covers entry, 9 drink tickets, and one bottle of mineral water. Since the event takes place indoors, weather is not a concern during the Golden Week outing.

Sake Sommeliers Who Are Also Comedians

Comedian duo

One of the highlights is the manzai comedy duo "Nihonshu," who are also certified sake sommeliers (kikizakeshi). The pair — Asayan from Higashi-Osaka, Osaka, and Kitai Kazuaki from Himeji, Hyogo — share tasting tips and regional sake characteristics in an entertaining way. They are recognized as the world's only manzai comedians who both hold the kikizakeshi certification, and have received a Special Merit Award from the Japan Sake Service Research Institute (SSI).

After the Event: Enjoy Ochazuke at a Hotel Restaurant

After-event ochazuke at the restaurant

After the sake tasting, guests can extend the experience at Wa Bistro Ichosaka (Annex Tower 1F). Presenting a ticket stub earns a complimentary mini ochazuke (rice with green tea broth) as a post-event treat. Additional discounts are also available at other hotel restaurants.

Early Bird Tickets Come with Hotel Original Snacks
