New patterns have been added to the popular "いせもめん こどもじんべい" (Isemomen Kodomo Jinbei) — the signature children's garment from SOU・SOU わらべぎ — and the full summer 2026 lineup is now available. Made from Ise cotton (伊勢木綿) dyed in colorful kyogata yuzen patterns, this item has been the top-selling product since SOU・SOU わらべぎ opened in 2010, with cumulative sales now exceeding 110,000 pieces as of summer 2026.
SOU・SOU × Ise Cotton: New Possibilities for a Traditional Fabric
The fabric used in the "Isemomen Kodomo Jinbei" is Ise cotton (伊勢木綿), a traditional textile from Mie Prefecture that has been woven into daily Japanese life since the Edo period. Crafted using time-honored techniques, the fabric has a soft texture and a warm, natural quality.
Its excellent moisture absorption makes it comfortable even for active children who tend to sweat. It is also machine-washable and quick-drying, making it easy to use on a daily basis. With each wash, the fabric softens further and conforms to the body — one of the reasons it can be passed down among siblings or cousins and continues to be cherished over the years.
About SOU・SOU わらべぎ

SOU・SOU's take on children's Japanese clothing. Built around the concept of "warabegi" (わらべぎ — a child-like spirit), SOU・SOU わらべぎ offers Japanese-style garments for children centered on Ise cotton hand towels and other skin-friendly materials.
