Hankyu Umeda Main Store's 10th floor "Umeda Souq" will host Tamiya Hobby World 2026 in Osaka, a hands-on event where parents and children can build and race model kits together, from August 12 (Wednesday) to August 18 (Tuesday), 2026.

Beginner-friendly workshops with Tamiya staff support
Four different model-building workshops let children choose based on their interests, from Mini 4WD cars to wooden dinosaurs and plastic dinosaur models. Tamiya staff provide full support throughout, so first-timers can join with ease and experience the joy of making things.
A dedicated circuit to test-drive what you build
Mini 4WD cars assembled at the venue can be raced on a dedicated course or special circuit right there. Visitors can feel the excitement of watching what they built move under its own power while naturally learning how it works.
Event-exclusive merchandise and apparel
Alongside displays of new models launching this summer, the venue offers event-exclusive items and apparel goods such as T-shirts that are only available here, giving both Tamiya fans and their families plenty to shop for.
Perfect for a summer research project, the event is packed with hands-on experiences centered on building and moving things.
Mini 4WD workshop (advance reservation required)
Choose your favorite machine from two model options, assemble it, and race it on the special circuit. Parts available at the venue also allow for customization.
Age: Elementary school 1st grade and up (elementary school students must be accompanied by a guardian)
Walking wooden dinosaur workshop (advance reservation required)
Choose one from three types, including a Tyrannosaurus, and assemble a walking wooden dinosaur.
Age: Elementary school 5th grade and up (elementary school students must be accompanied by a guardian)
Trail Mini 4WD building experience
Build a Mini 4WD that comes together easily just by snapping the parts into place. Once built, it can be raced on the dedicated course.
Participation fee: ① ¥1,320 or ② ¥1,540 (kit and running batteries included)
Time: Walk-up basis, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Duration: Approximately 40 minutes (on the final day, August 18 (Tuesday), until 3:00 PM)
Capacity: First 6 guests per session; a wait may occur once full
Age: Elementary school 1st grade and up (elementary school students must be accompanied by a guardian)

Fukuiraptor model building experience
Build a plastic model of Fukuiraptor, a dinosaur that lived approximately 120 million years ago. No glue required, making it a great choice for beginners.
Participation fee: ¥880 (kit included)
Time: Walk-up basis, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Duration: Approximately 20 minutes (on the final day, August 18 (Tuesday), until 3:00 PM)
Capacity: First 6 guests per session; a wait may occur once full
Age: Elementary school 1st grade and up (elementary school students must be accompanied by a guardian)
