teamLab Biovortex Kyoto Marks Its First Anniversary With More Than 1.3 Million Visitors From 167 Countries and Regions

teamLab Biovortex Kyoto - Taisei Corporation (hereafter teamLab Biovortex Kyoto) will mark its first anniversary on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

Featured in outlets such as Reuters (※1), the major British news agency, and The Straits Times (※2), a leading Southeast Asian newspaper based in Singapore, teamLab Biovortex Kyoto has welcomed more than 1.3 million visitors from 167 countries and regions since opening (※3).

About 44% of visitors are international travelers to Japan, and visitors from distant countries such as the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Germany account for about half. In addition, about 25% of international visitors purchased their tickets 30 or more days in advance.

teamLab Biovortex Kyoto is Japan's largest teamLab museum, and the average length of stay is over 2 hours 30 minutes.

First Anniversary Display

To commemorate the first anniversary, a fasciated willow (石化柳) is on display in the artwork Vanishing Tree and Wildflowers.

The display period is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7 through Sunday, October 11.

What's Next

teamLab Biovortex Kyoto plans to open a new tea house, Teahouse in a Sea of Light 一滴庵.

In addition, the experiential art center Superblue Kyoto is scheduled to open on the adjacent site in early 2027.
