As part of its "Yes, Let's Go to Kyoto!" campaign, Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) has begun selling a special plan through "EX Travel Reservation" that lets visitors combine the "Zen and Ghibli" Kyoto exhibition — opening October 3, 2026, at the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art, New Wing "Higashiyama Cube" — with an exploration of Kyoto's Zen culture. (Plan details and purchase)
The lineup includes an admission ticket bundled with a reception voucher for a limited special goshuin exclusive to "Yes, Let's Go to Kyoto!," as well as an admission ticket that adds a goshuin book together with the reception voucher.
By visiting the three participating temples — Nanzen-ji, Shokoku-ji, and Myoshin-ji — and presenting the voucher, visitors can receive the special goshuin while experiencing in person the Zen worldview explored in the exhibition. The special goshuin is granted at each temple upon presenting the reception voucher, in addition to separately paying the temple's admission fee and goshuin fee.
After viewing the exhibition, visitors are invited to continue on to the temples, taking in the spaces and culture where Zen still lives on for a distinctly Kyoto experience that deepens their appreciation of the "Zen and Ghibli" world.

About the "Zen and Ghibli" Exhibition
An exhibition that lets visitors encounter Zen through the world of "The Boy and the Heron," winner of the Best Animated Feature award at the 96th Academy Awards.
Based on the book "Zen and Ghibli" (published by Tankosha), a compilation of dialogues between Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki and a Zen monk, the exhibition is an unprecedented, immersive experience that lets visitors encounter "Zen" through Ghibli's works.
The exhibition is centered around director Hayao Miyazaki's latest work, "The Boy and the Heron" (2023), which recorded Studio Ghibli's largest-ever overseas audience.
Through memorable lines and scene photographs from each film, along with calligraphy by producer Toshio Suzuki, the exhibition brings a three-dimensional "Zen" perspective to life.

*Sales will end once the planned quantity is reached.
