Kyoto Century Hotel, marking its 98th anniversary this year, is offering a new accommodation plan bundled with tickets to "Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring — Masterpieces of 17th-Century Dutch Painting, A Miraculous Return," the exhibition opening August 21 (Friday), 2026, at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka. Available exclusively for premium rooms and suite rooms, the plan goes on sale August 3 (Monday), 2026.
This marks a rare opportunity to see Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring, one of his greatest masterpieces, return to Japan for the first time in 14 years, since the 2012 Mauritshuis exhibition (organized by The Asahi Shimbun and others) drew roughly 1.2 million visitors. The exhibition runs for only about five weeks, exclusively in Osaka. Kyoto Century Hotel's stay plan applies to premium rooms and suite rooms and includes an exhibition ticket. The suite rooms come in three individually designed styles with a modern touch, including the Garden Suite, while the premium rooms offer four room types, including the Kyo Premium Executive Double, newly introduced this past May.
Getting to the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka is straightforward: guests can board the Station Loop Bus in front of the hotel to Shichijo Station, then continue by Keihan Railway. Inside the hotel, guests are welcomed by a nostalgic, modern space centered on "Kanjin no Kyo Akari," a hotel symbol that has won numerous design awards. At this historic hotel, built around the concept of "Nostalgic Journey," guests can enjoy a special Kyoto–Osaka trip that pairs beautiful surroundings and art with the lingering glow of a timeless masterpiece.
