Tennoji MIO (天王寺ミオ) in Osaka is holding the Christmas promotion "MIO CHRISTMAS STORY - Meet My Christmas at MIO" (MIO CHRISTMAS STORY －ミオで出会う、私のクリスマス－) from Monday, November 2 to Friday, December 25, 2026. This year's Christmas is hands-on: visitors take part themselves and make their own memories. Through photo spots, workshops, a photo session with Santa Claus, original-design print stickers, and more, each visitor becomes the lead of their own Christmas story.
A Christmas to Join In at Tennoji MIO This Year
A Story of MIO, Brimming With Excitement
This year's theme is "Meet My Christmas at MIO," expressing a Christmas world in which each person is the lead. The main visual shows Santa Claus, a Christmas tree, and shoppers bursting out of an open book, depicting the moment when a story set at MIO begins to move. Entrances, show windows, and other spots in the building are also decorated for Christmas, creating a space that lifts the spirits just by visiting. Visitors can enjoy a special moment available only in this season while touring the Christmas stories spread throughout the building.

About the Illustrator
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture, the illustrator turns the everyday things around us into a unique worldview seen from their own perspective, and has gained popularity mainly on social media. Besides solo exhibitions, their activities span a wide range, including collaborations with apparel brands, musicians, and TV personalities, visuals for commercial facilities, and artwork for magazines and advertisements.

Photo Spot Where You Become the Star of the Story

A giant photo spot that makes visitors feel as if they have wandered into a picture book appears in the Light Garden (ライトガーデン) on the 11th floor of the Main Building. Visitors step into a world of original designs created for this project, featuring Santa Claus and people enjoying shopping, and can capture Christmas memories in photos as if they were the star of the story.

Print Sticker Experience
Visitors can enjoy taking photos with a photo frame exclusive to MIO Christmas.

How to participate: Open to WESPO members only (membership is available on the day). One participation is available with purchases of ¥3,000 or more (tax included) on the 7th floor of the Main Building on the same day (purchases can be combined). First come, first served.
Christmas Workshop
Marbled plate making or a Christmas tree made with dipping solution. Participants choose one of the two.
Dates: Friday, December 18 and Saturday, December 19, 2026
How to participate: Open to WESPO members only (new membership is available). Apply through the WESPO app by Monday, November 23 (national holiday). A lottery is held if there are many applicants.
Photo Session With a Real Santa Claus
Santa Claus visits MIO for one day only, and visitors can take commemorative photos together.

How to participate: Open to WESPO members only (membership is available on the day). One participation is available with purchases of ¥1,000 or more (tax included) in the building on the day (purchases cannot be combined). First come, first served.
A Christmas Made Together With Local Groups and Companies
Tennoji MIO works with local companies, organizations, and schools to bring more liveliness to the Tennoji and Abeno area. This time, a variety of events with children as the stars are held, using the photo spot as the stage. Through special experiences created together with the local community, MIO delivers wonderful Christmas stories.

First Christmas Crawling Race - Babies' Merry Christmas Operation (はじめてのクリスマス ハイハイレース - 赤ちゃんたちのメリークリスマス大作戦 -)
Dates: Round 1 on Tuesday, November 24 and Round 2 on Wednesday, December 2, 2026. Sessions start at 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM each day.

Tennoji MIO Gen Z Community "ヒミツキチ" × YKK "つなぐくらぶ by YKK®" Collaboration
A workshop for making an original Christmas wreath using climbing rope and YKK zippers. Participants can also decorate the wreath with items such as charms they bring, and enjoy making a one-of-a-kind wreath of their own.
