The single malt Scotch whisky "The Singleton of Dufftown" is getting a new package design. Diageo Japan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Diageo, a major British liquor company with brands in 180 or more countries and regions worldwide, is behind the redesign.
The new package will be introduced first on "The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old," which will switch sequentially starting with shipments on October 6, 2026. The switch dates for "The Singleton of Dufftown 15 Year Old" and "The Singleton of Dufftown 18 Year Old" will be announced once they are decided.
"The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old" won the Platinum Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) 2026, an internationally renowned spirits competition. The Platinum Medal is the highest honor, awarded to products that have won "Double Gold" for three consecutive years. Double Gold is given to products that every judge has rated Gold.
This package renewal expresses the quality and craftsmanship backed by that international recognition in a more modern, premium design.

The brand's signature salmon mark stands out more, and a rich teal color palette, metallic ink, and a tactile finish come together to strengthen the sense of craftsmanship and quality.

Slow Batch Distillation, the Key to the Rich Taste
This renewal also expresses "Slow Batch Distillation," the signature process behind the taste of "The Singleton of Dufftown," as an important design element.
In Slow Batch Distillation, the wort is fermented slowly over about 75 hours, developing rich aroma compounds that form the base of a rich, fruity taste. The spirit is then distilled carefully over a long time, and the longer contact with copper refines it into a smooth mouthfeel with the edges rounded off. Condensing slowly at a relatively high temperature then produces a smooth, well-balanced taste.
To communicate this process more clearly, the tasting notes on the label have also been updated. The signature of master distiller Craig Wilson has been added as well, expressing the expertise and dedication that go into every bottle.
