Free Art Walking Event TOKYO ART DOTS Runs November 5 to 8 Around Tokyo Station, Nihonbashi, Kyobashi and Ginza

A walking-style art event, "TOKYO ART DOTS," will be held from Thursday, November 5 to Sunday, November 8, 2026, at venues in front of Tokyo Station, including Tofrom Yaesu Tower (Yaesu, Chuo-ku, Tokyo). It is organized by Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. and HERALBONY Co., Ltd., and lets visitors encounter art by HERALBONY's contracted artists while strolling through town.

The event takes place across Yaesu, Nihonbashi, Kyobashi and Ginza, the districts spreading out on the east side of Tokyo Station. It is the first event for which HERALBONY uses the town itself as the venue. The theme is "Distinctive Brilliance Makes the Town Shine." Both art and towns gain color and shine when many individual dots, or personalities (DOT), gather together. The event is set in an area with a history and tradition that stretches back to the Edo period, and conveys that distinctive brilliance across the ages.

BAG@Tofrom Yaesu Tower

At the main venue, Tofrom Yaesu Tower, the whole event space is filled with art by HERALBONY's contracted artists. Art booths themed on four eras, "Meiji and Taisho," "Showa," "Heisei" and "Reiwa," are set up inside. Each one presents the daily lives of people in that era and the richness they cultivated through a single story inspired by the brand statement of Tokyo Tatemono's condominium brand Brillia, "私らしさ、それが豊かさ。" ("Being myself is richness."). Besides an art exhibition curated around the story, there are hands-on programs that let participants feel for themselves "What is richness?" and a performance using body expression. The gallery is held as part of the activities of BAG-Brillia Art Gallery-, a site-specific gallery with no fixed home base.

1896-2026: The 130-Year Story of Tokyo

Countless people have lived in Tokyo.

Meiji, Taisho, Showa, Heisei, Reiwa...

In this painting, too, are people who lived through each era.

A shopkeeper carrying a pole on the shoulder, selling fish as they walk.

Someone pulling a rickshaw with a passenger, racing through town.

A cook frying tempura and serving it to people.

Young people running toward Otemachi, passing the relay sash from one to the next.

Office workers taking on new work with their colleagues in a high-rise.

Just as the people in the painting are full of life, the people of each era held their own feelings and lived their own lives, lighting small lights in this town.

Each light has a different color and shines differently. They met and mixed, and made the town of Tokyo as it is today.

That layering may be our richness.

Now, you set out on a journey through 130 years of Tokyo.

Across the ages, you meet people and touch the feelings they cherished and the moment their light was lit.

And at the end of the journey, what kind of light will you meet?

Meiji and Taisho, 1896: "Once the Gas Lamps Were Lit" (Performance)

Around 1896 (Meiji 29), the year Tokyo Tatemono was founded, lights were beginning to come on in the town. The excitement of that era is portrayed in a body-expression performance by Deaf actors.

  • Program: A performance using body expression on the theme of "gas lamps"
  • How to take part: Free viewing
  • Duration: 10 minutes
  • Cast: 奥村泰人, 山田真樹, 南雲麻衣, 小野花音

Showa, 1960: "The Invisible Flower Shop (見えない花屋), produced by HIBIYA KADAN" (Hands-on Program)

With their eyes closed, participants rely on senses other than sight to feel the shape, texture and scent of flowers, and choose a flower that suits them. Based on what they felt from the chosen flower and the scene that came to mind, they can also give it their own "flower language." The chosen flower can be taken home.

  • Program: Choosing a flower by smell and touch while wearing an eye mask
  • How to take part: First come, first served. Numbered tickets will be handed out if it gets crowded.
  • Duration: 8 minutes per group

  • How to take part: Free viewing

Reiwa, 2026: "Giving Shape to the Light in Your Heart (MY ART DOT)" (Participatory Content)

This is digital content in which participants reflect on what richness means to them and discover what "being myself" means. Participants choose an artwork and think about the questions about "richness" that are presented. From the chosen work and the subtle bodily reactions that appear as they reflect, a "MY ART DOT" that mirrors the finer points of that person's heart is generated. The finished MY ART DOT can be taken home as a card. It is also accumulated on the screen in the venue, where the dots overlap and form one large "light." No reservation is needed, and participants can join freely during event hours.

About the Event

Since its founding in 1896 (Meiji 29), Tokyo Tatemono has worked on town development for 130 years, keeping in mind the lives of the people who live, work and gather in its towns. The people who made the history and traditions of a town were individuals who lived seeking their own richness in each era. In this event, the richness inside each of those individuals is seen as a "light." In an open space where many people come and go, visitors touch a different "being myself" in each person through HERALBONY's artworks, and take a fresh look at what richness means to them. It is a special four-day event in which visitors experience various lights while following the stories built up over 130 years. The four venues are all within walking distance, so visitors can stroll around town and visit the art of HERALBONY's artists scattered along the way, enjoying art and stories that glow like a collection of dots (DOTS).
