The key visual for Tokyo Christmas Market 2026 has been unveiled. It was created by graphic artist Kayo Horaguchi and is themed on the "waterside" of the Shin-Toyosu venue and the "forest" of the Shiba Park venue. The artwork shows a fantastical world that combines Horaguchi's vivid colors with animals and plants.
The left side of the single artwork is the Shin-Toyosu visual and the right side is the Shiba Park visual. Placed side by side, the two pieces connect into one Christmas artwork.
The event opens at Shin-Toyosu on Friday, November 20, 2026 and at Shiba Park (Onarimon Station Plaza) on Friday, December 4. Both venues run through Friday, December 25.
A Christmas World Full of Color and Small Stories
Animals, plants, and Christmas motifs overlap in vivid colors to create a dreamlike landscape. The key visual presents Horaguchi's fantastical and playful world, which freely combines everyday things.
There are animals dressed up for the occasion, tiny sparkling decorations, and detailed motifs drawn inside the hütte (huts). Every glance brings a new discovery, and small stories seem ready to begin all over the picture. The many motifs are placed in a composition with depth that draws viewers into the artwork.
It is a piece that makes you want to find a favorite and tell someone about it, then look again and come across something different. Viewers can enjoy it while they wait for Christmas.
Shin-Toyosu Venue: A Waterside Christmas in a World of Blue

Fish swim through a blue night sky filled with shining stars and snowflakes. The Shin-Toyosu visual is inspired by the waterside, and animals gather to enjoy Christmas.
Around the golden Christmas pyramid are animals dressed up in fairy-tale style and plenty of colorful decorations. It is a lively world where cheerful music and laughter seem about to be heard. Viewers can look for a favorite animal or find tiny decorations, strolling through the picture, and anticipation for Christmas builds before they even visit the venue.
Shiba Park Venue: A Forest Christmas with Green Trees and Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower shines beyond the green trees in a Christmas forest decorated with large wreaths and trees. The Shiba Park visual opens up a world full of dreams, like turning the pages of a picture book.
Around the golden Christmas pyramid are nutcrackers and animals dressed up for the occasion. Gingerbread men and colorful ornaments join them, and a Christmas party in the forest seems about to start. Small delights are tucked among the trees and beside the flowers. It is a piece that invites viewers to find their favorite motifs and imagine Christmas with someone special.

I have visited Tokyo Christmas Market before, and it is one of my favorite events. I am very happy to have created the key visual for such an event.
This time, with the "waterside" of Shin-Toyosu and the "forest" of Shiba Park as themes, I drew many animals, plants, and Christmas motifs. I hope you will enjoy each picture, and I also hope you will notice that the two pictures connect into one world when placed side by side.
I hope that while looking at these pictures, you will start imagining "Who should I go with?" and "What kind of Christmas should I have?" even before visiting the venue. I put care into small details too, such as the inside of the hütte, so I hope you can find your favorite animals and motifs in the picture and enjoy the time of waiting for Christmas.
