Tokyo Dome Hotel (Location: 1-3-61 Koraku, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President and General Manager: Fumiyuki Munekata) will participate in Earth Hour 2026, the world's largest environmental action, to be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, for the first time.
Earth Hour began in 2007 when WWF Australia and partner companies held a lights-out event in Sydney to raise awareness about climate change. It has now grown into one of the world's largest grassroots events. Held on the last Saturday of March each year, Earth Hour sees participation from over 180 countries and territories, taking action for a better future for people and the planet.
Under the common theme "Beyond Lights Out," the hotel will implement diverse programs over three months that go beyond simple lights-out initiatives, encouraging consideration of a sustainable future. The main event features a limited-capacity immersive theater performance for 50 guests in a silent chapel produced by "ESPACT," along with candlelight displays throughout the hotel. Additionally, the main dining room will offer a spring special course using sustainable ingredients, and the main bar will serve cocktails made with sustainable spirits, providing opportunities to consider a sustainable future.
Background: A Special Experience Connecting with the Earth Through Lights Out

Tokyo Dome Hotel goes beyond simple lights-out initiatives, preparing content that approaches from both cultural and culinary perspectives to transform this time into an "unforgettable moving experience" for guests.

Dining "Deux Mille" (6F) Course Featuring Spring Ingredients and the World's Three Great Delicacies
This special course fuses traditional French techniques with the breath of spring and choices that look toward the earth's future. Each dish showcasing seasonal spring ingredients, including the world's three great delicacies, cherry trout in the amuse-bouche, French white asparagus, Japanese rockfish, and "Tochi Aika" strawberries, is an exquisite creation that highlights the chef's commitment and skill. Additionally, this course adopts sustainable dishes using locally sourced ingredients and "Better Meat," delivering a dining experience that contributes to a sustainable future.

Sustainable Dishes Included in the Course
Fish Dish: Poached Lobster and Tokyo Bay Spring-Herald Fish "Mebaru" (Rockfish) with Rich Americaine Sauce

[Local Production for Local Consumption - Tokyo Bay's Bounty]
Pursuing "local production for local consumption" that reduces transportation distance and CO2 emissions. By actively utilizing rockfish, a seasonal blessing from Tokyo Bay, we strive to protect marine resources nurtured by the metropolitan suburbs and support sustainable cycles.
Meat Dish: Japanese Black Beef Filet (Better Meat) Steak with Light Horseradish-Flavored Gravy Sauce

[Better Meat Selection]
Traditionally, "keisan-gyu (cows that have given birth)" have been undervalued as food due to reasons such as tough meat texture and have generally not been fully utilized. At this hotel, we elevate these lives, whose original deliciousness has been brought out through re-raising, to supreme dishes as "Better Meat." By honoring lives without waste and rediscovering their value, we propose reduced livestock waste and ethical consumption.
Dessert: Fraises Romanoff Using Tochigi Prefecture's "Tochi Aika"

Two cocktail varieties are prepared using globally recognized sustainable spirits.

◆"Terra Twist Daiquiri" (photo: left)
Using the Latin word for earth, "Terra," combined with "twist" to mean a twist on earth's bounty. A menu name that carries the maturity and soil nuances of Flor de Caña in a short, powerful resonance.
Uses Nicaraguan rum "Flor de Caña," the world's first to receive both carbon neutral and fair trade certifications. This rum, distilled at the foot of a volcano using 100% renewable energy, is also known for its manufacturer's century-long commitment to environmental conservation and employee education and medical support. It conveys the story of the world's most sustainable rum, connecting the earth's environment and producers' livelihoods to the future.
◆"THE LAST TWIST -Fragrance G&T-" (photo: right)
A menu name that plays on the spirit's name "LAST" with "the last twist," while emphasizing the gin's intense aroma.
Uses "Ethical Gin LAST," which regenerates unused resources such as sake lees into fragrant gin through unique distillation technology. Finding new value in overlooked materials, transforming waste into "treasure." A drink that lets you experience the possibilities of sustainable spirits filled with wisdom and passion that connect resources to the future.
