The Kuhara Honke Group (Hisayama Town, Kasuya District, Fukuoka Prefecture; President: Tetsuji Kawabe) will open a new flagship store under the "Kayanoya" brand operated by Kuhara Honke Co., Ltd. This store, designed by Kengo Kuma, one of Japan's leading architects, serves as a flagship store to promote the appeal of Japanese "dashi" culture both domestically and internationally. The store will offer carefully selected dashi ingredients available exclusively here among all Kayanoya stores nationwide, as well as premium gifts.
About Tokyo Ginza Kayanoya
Kayanoya has continued to create products that connect Japanese food culture to modern dining tables while cherishing ingredients, starting with its flagship product "Kayanoya Dashi." The newly opened flagship store "Tokyo Ginza Kayanoya" will provide a more detailed introduction to the profound world of "dashi" created from carefully selected ingredients, allowing visitors to fully experience its appeal. The store also offers premium gifts unique to the Ginza location, carefully selected to convey heartfelt sentiments to loved ones.
The store will deliver the excellence of Japanese "dashi" and food culture to both domestic and international visitors from this location where people gather from around the world.
1st Floor: Dedicated Corner for Dried Ingredients from Across Japan
The first floor embodies Kayanoya's fundamental commitment to "ingredients" and features main dashi products as well as over 20 types of "dried ingredients," which form the core of the store, available individually. The selection includes bonito flakes, kelp, charcoal-grilled flying fish, and simmered flying fish, carefully chosen by Kayanoya from across Japan, offering products that allow visitors to experience Japanese food culture.
Additionally, five types of "Kayanoya Carefully Selected Ingredient Dried Food Kits" (Tokyo, Nagoya, Noto, Kyoto, Hakata) are available, combining regional dried ingredients with unique characteristics. Recipes for local dishes from each region are also provided, allowing visitors to easily experience Japan's rich dashi culture at home.
The store also offers a wide variety of products, including the Ginza store-exclusive "Premium Kayanoya Dashi" and "Dashi Chazuke Unagi."
2nd Floor: Tokyo Ginza Exclusive Gifts and Dashi Inari
The second floor offers a comfortable shopping experience, featuring a curated selection of gifts. In addition to "Specially Prepared Miyabi Dashi" and "Specially Prepared Sansho Nama-Shichimi," visitors will find special items available only here, such as Kayanoya special edition cookies from "Régis d." (Régis de), a renowned French pastry shop in Ichijoji, Kyoto. The store also introduces "Tokyo Ginza Kayanoya Exclusive Dashi Inari" as a perfect souvenir.
Furthermore, the store sells beautiful "tools" related to Japanese cuisine and features a gallery function, providing cultural experiential value.
