TOUFU TOKYO, the pioneer of upcycled bonsai art that never withers, opens a premium pop-up for one week at Shinjuku Takashimaya, running from Wednesday, August 26 to Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

The pieces on display, created by TOUFU TOKYO artist Yoshio Suzuki under the name "RE BONSAI™," give new form to bonsai that have reached the end of their natural life yet retain a dignified beauty and quiet elegance. The concept shifts from bonsai that must be grown to bonsai that simply exist: needing no natural light, watering, or pruning, each piece can be displayed anywhere indoors. The pop-up features tree species including shimpaku juniper and Japanese white pine, aged 10 to 250 years, with prices spanning from entry-level pieces in the ¥30,000 range up to heirloom-quality pieces in the ¥2,000,000 range. A limited run of 30 one-of-a-kind RE BONSAI™ pieces will be on display and for sale, and personal orders (commissions) are also accepted on-site.
